Any more Rebel Epic ships in Pipeline?

By Tokyogriz, in X-Wing

Very glad we have Gozanti and the Raider for Empire.

But how to play an epic game now?

Only option is run 1 CR-90 and a few small ships. Or double CR-90s?

Really feels like we need another ship to make it interesting.

What would that Rebel epic ship be?

Scum will most likely get the next round of Epic ships to balance out the total numbers, so I doubt we will see a new Rebel Huge ship for awhile.

Just the two rebel ships and two imperial ships for now.

Common assumption is that scum will be getting their two ships before FFG look to add a third huge ship to any faction.

Oh, and because of the epic points you can't actually run 2 corvettes in one list without house ruling. For rebels It's either a single cr-90, a single rebel transport, one of each, two rebel transports or no huge ships at all.

This is not the only option, and in single epic play 2 CR-90s is not allowed.

Ah ok did not review the point costs.

I hope they release 2 scum epic and 1 epic rebel ship in the next year or so.

Honestly lets face it the rebel transport is pathetic compared to the Gozaniti.

To soon to compare to the gozanti, but up to now the transport has been, by far, the most powerful of the huge ships.

Yes Raiders and CR-90s are terrified of transports.

Possibly the DP-20 gunship? It seems to be the ship on the "Slaved Turrets" upgrade in Armada, so FFG are aware of it, and may have plans for it in Armada. Plus, it fits nicely in at X Wing scale, and probably represents a closer fit to the Raider in terms of firepower than the CR-90 is.

That said, Scum will almost certainly get their two epic ships first, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Most cost effective certainly. They can certainly out-support every ship currently in the game.

Wild Karrde and Jabba's Space Cruiser. Done.

One transport sized and one corvette sized (with docked Z-95s!).

And if he Rebel Transport can come with a mission that requires three(!) of the ships then can fly two corvettes if I want to. Epic should be casual play anyway. Although epic tournaments do sounds pretty...epic.

hmm wonder if z 95s or x wings fit on the Gozanti? Could make rebel or scum version of Gozanti custom for home play.

What, no HWKs?

TLTs with sabine throwing thermal detonators out the back? sure!

Screw rebels, they already got all the cool toys >:C

SCUM HUGE TIME!

Huge HWK= Normandy SR-2

You know the Rebels had two Epic ships before the Empire had one, yes? The CR90 was the second. The GR-75 is also probably one of the best Epic ships in the game.

And it becomes even better once you add Automated Protocols / Optimized Generators to the mix...

Very true. Go for it, I say.

Just protocols for longer life, Optimized generators are of no use if you have no hardpoints like GR-75

In response to the question of clamping X-wings to the Gozanti, only the TIE advanced, the two TIE fighters, the TIE interceptor and presumably the v1 fit. The bomber, punisher, phantom and defender don't fit and nor do any of the other ships.

You can always have more CR-90's or Raiders if you play Cinematic play. That's just playing with whatever toys you want.

There's a new option for a S&V huge ship from the new film, but probably would be closer to the Rebel transport than anything.

I'm quite fine with what we have though a couple of smaller 2 or 3 point Epic ships might be okay.

No offense but I just don't see the beauty in a DP-20 gunship and as for another Rebel Epic one might consider the Ghost since it has more combined shield and hull than the Rebel Transport. It kind of makes you wonder of the Gozanti might have once considered for standard play?
