As per the thread title really.
Four TIE/ln fit fine but the bomb chute on the bombers stop them clipping in.
Not tried tie ints or advanced yet but i cant see them having a problem

Gadge ... such a sweet, subtle brag ... I GOT MY Imperial Assault Carrier ...

No im serious, i was really dissapointed , i cant see any way to fit them without breaking the bomb chute off.
Googled the question and someone else found the same thing.
also tie interceptors have to be placed facing back to back.
Shame as a little 'testing' could have avoided this, its clearly been done with tie/ln in mind and the others as an afterthough.
While i dont mind the tie ints being 'back to back' , *not* being able to carry the bombers at all is a massive design fail in my eyes.
Back to back interceptors sounds cool looking actually. It's a shame about the Bombers, my favorites.
Interceptors going back to back I can live with. If the Advanceds have to go face to face, well that would feel a little weird.
Imagine ending up opposite the "big man". Freaky...
Ill test advanced now.
well the guy on reddit is a bit of a div as the ints fit fine on mine in 'rows', as do the tie advanced.
Bombers dont fit at all though ![]()
Here we go (i know you cant mix variants it was just easier to illustrate that they both work)
Im glad tie ints do fit, just should have checked myself!
Edited by GadgeI am greatly relieved!
Look good too. Thanks for the info, very decent indeed.
EXCITEMENT!
Is it a space thing or the shape of the docking clamps themselves? Sounds like a couple of magnets might make the problem solve itself.
Hope this issue is easily fixable....
If you use one of the regular ship pegs the bomber will fit. It just looks really odd.
Its the nature of the clamps. They are essentially a dish with a 'male' height peg in the centre.
The dish fits over the 'ball' of the base of the tie and obviously the peg locks into the female socket on the bottom of the ship.
The problem is two fold.
First of all the tie bomber doesnt have a 'ball' around the socket peg, secondly the bomb chute tube stops the ship getting close enough to the 'bowl' to connect in any way.
I dont think magnets would help unless you magnetise the bomb chute and make that removable.
The important question is: can you fit 4 K-wings underneath it?
No but interestingly in the campaign that comes with it the rebel side have a Gozanti in one of the scenarios!
Probably the first scenario i can think of that mixs rebel and imperial ships in one force?
That's disappointing, as I expect the bomber to be my primary loadout when I get my Gozanti.

If you were going to go to the bother of magnetizing them anyway, I imagine you would want to magnetize the top of the TIEs so they are mounted right side up anyway. That would fix the bomb chute problem, at least.
But then you'd end up with a model with a magnet on both ends?
Like one magnet to fit the flight stand,, another to dock.
Getting a magnet to look like a TIE entry hatch would be a challenge, you'd either have to slice the top off, insert a magnet and put it on top or green stuff a new canopy top?
And would they work well togehter, i have no idea i dont magnetise my models.

I plan on removing the pegs on the ships, then drilling from the bottom a deep hole to drop a magnet into. This will place the magnet UNDER the top surface of the ship. Then I can reglue a peg in the hole, I have plenty of extras to cut for this. Solves all these issues and if I decide to magnetize the ships and pegs, an extra set of magnets is no big deal!

Thanks for the pics !!!
I am looking forward to getting mine this week.
Just visualizing geometry in my head, couldn't you cut notches into the "bowl" for the bomb chute to slide into?
Or would you still have a problem of the Bomber's peg socket placement not making it all the way to the male peg due to the depth of the bowl?
I know how to make it work.
Use a single flight stem Between the bomber and the plug.
Yeah thats been suggested on reddit but them you have a wierd looking thing where the bombers are suspended about a centimetre out of the clamps better than nothing but still a pretty major design fail.
If you're going to make a model that can carry 'ship x' its a good idea to check it actually can before selling it ![]()
I might be mistaken, but didn't the docking clamps upgrade card only allow Tie Fighters, Interceptors, and Advanced to be docked with the Gozanti?
Edit: Nevermind. Found the card and it does surprisingly allow for bombers...
Edited by StratN8I don't have a Gozanti, so I am not sure how the ships connect, but if they connect via the peg slot, can the bombers be connected via an intermediary peg? Not as nice looking as connecting directly, granted, but I am just wondering for the sake of a (albeit less than aesthetically pleasing) work around?
How can they make such an oversight? That is really bad, I have to reconsider that purchase now. I kind of wanted my 4 Bombers under that thing. The cards aren't really interesting outside of epic, where I mostly get to play Rebels.
Yes but a full peg leaves them hovering in mid air as said.
You could possibly cut down four pegs to make them look better but tbh i think i'll just put four advanced on it to represent the bombers until they launch.
