Major Rhymer

Last game I tried out the Rhymer ball, my opponent and I were a bit confused about whether the increase in range applies to coloured dice that are not in that range increment. For Example Rhymer has a black battery die, but can fire at medium range, which is usually just for Blue, and Red die.

I was under the impression that it does indeed increase the range allowance as it says all dice. I've checked the FAQ and the forums and can't see anything concrete.

If it does allow such an occurrence, then I have to say it is a game changer.

Note that all squadron dice have the same range increment (distance 1).

Yeah, the whole point of Rhymer, and the reason why he is the centerpiece of most Imperial bomber builds, is that the triples the attack range of squadrons: from Distance 1 (squadron side of the range ruler) to Medium Range (ship side of the range ruler).

He's a mean nerf-herder.

Major Rhymer

Friendly squadrons that are at distance 1 of Major Rhymer can attack ships at close–medium range instead of being restricted to distance 1.

This includes Major Rhymer himself.

When a friendly squadron attacks in this way, it ignores the dice color restrictions on the range side of the ruler , rolling all dice in its battery armament (the rightmost armament on the squadron card.

The reason why Rhymer let's all dice go to medium range is because squadron dice are all in the same distance so they don't have a separation of what range they can be used at.
