Jump Master 5000

By Space Cadet, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi, I'm not really seeing too much excitement about the new Scum big ship. I know that not all of the information is available but it's the first 360' turret big class ship that's hopefully going to open up a little more diversity within the Sum faction. I looking at buying two to play with.

Anyone liking the new horse shoe shaped ship, what can it offer on the table?

360 turrets are pretty sh*tty game design and they're not at all worth being excited about on their own

more info needed on the ship for it to be anything even the least bit interesting, such as additional spoilers on its asymmetric dial

right now, all we got is Dengar and an ept generic that can be outfitted with Deadeye + recon + r4 to fire fully modified plasma torpedoes without even needing to target-lock the enemy first (two times)

Honestly, many people on the forum have a large dislike of Large Turret Ships. Which is a real shame because it's a very interesting ship.

The easiest comparison we can make to the Jumpmaster 5000 is YT-2400.

Dash (36) 7PS +1 Shield

Dengar (33) 9PS! SAstro and Illicit.

Dengars ability is also interesting as the ability to shoot back is huge and most often will discourage attacks made within front arc.

At 9PS Dengar is a Large Ace similar to Han but with 2 greens not completely dead to TLT meta.

SAstro is underpriced with Unhinged Astromech and combos well with K4 Security Droid.

Illicit gives us one of the best discards in the game in the form of Glitterstim.

I currently see Dengar more of a no bombs Boba replacement with IG88B.

Alternatively, you could run it more like Fat Dash but Scum lacks good low 40 build ships.

With the droid+crew configuration, this ship can do many interesting things. Recon Spec + Agromech, K4-Security + Unhinged, etc. Heck, even Tactician is pretty spicy on this thing, since it can fire at an enemy in arc at R2, then, if the enemy fires back, you fire a return volley and double stress it. We have a large base turret that's capable of double stressing with Tactician. Kinda fun.

The crew + droid combo is one I'm looking forwards to. I'm interested to see what the points cost on the generic pilot is like, as I'm eyeing it up as a potential torpedo boat with plenty of dice modification opportunities.
