Omega Leader Question

By Taiowaa, in X-Wing

Can't change the dice, no focus, no reroll, no nothing. Evade tokens add one evade result. It's like a die with eight success sides on it. Fairly certain spending evade tokens doesn't work either. Hers going to hit with his 2 dice. It's gonna happen. Especially with the highly recommended Crack Shot or Juke.

not related so much but does that mean evade tokens dont block crits from that bwing?

Correct. Unblockable results can't be blocked by anything.

Time for technicalities!

Canceling dice isn't exactly modifying dice, it's comparing hits to evades

Each evade result cancels a hit, except in the case where it cannot (numbster)

All Omega does is prevent the enemy from getting extra evade results through tokens or c3po etc. Canceling dice is outside his jurisdiction (if it was, he wouldn't need juke)

Don't think Omega cancels c.3po ... Is adding a result the same as modifying?

Let's say one green die, you guess one evade and roll it .. would 3.po work here?

Sorry if its a dumb question, but when did we decide to call omega leader el presidente?

Yeah no one cc'd that memo.

I prefer "El Jefe".

When your dice hit the table, that is a set of dice results. According to Omega Leader's card, your dice results cannot be modified. Modify=change. Adding or subtracting results=changing=modifying. I'd be willing to bet that one cannot use Threepio, Accuracy Corrector, evade tokens or the like. I could be wrong, but this is the way I'd interpret the rule. Changing the number of hits/evades you get after your dice hit the table sounds like modification to me.

No need to interpret, just hit up the rules reference (also copied to first page)

It's pretty clear

In short,

No adding results (note nothing about adding dice)

- c3po or evade token

No changing die faces

- thrusters or emprah or focus

No re-rolls

- TL seri etc.

Note, adding/removing actual dice (rather than dice results) is not mentioned (important for Wedge or kanan pilot or stabber/zeta L and range bonsuses)

Canceling dice also isn't mentioned in modifying, so crackshot away and numb still works

Think there will be at least clarification, but I second the name "el presidente."

idk, I wasn't aware of any decision

It's just something I call him (Omega "el presidente" Leader) because he's the coolest **** thing ever

another acceptable moniker is "Big Daddy Dark Curse"

No I totally love the name el presidente, I was just wondering how you came up with it

no idea, it was pure instinct and it clicked

might be because his authority trumps the emperor's (can't use emperor on the TLed ship when attacking or being attacked by Omega leader :o)

because 'Murica! (except in spanish, for some reason)

can

Those cicumstances are that the TL'ed ship must not be the ship the Emperor is on. Bear with me:

1) Only the ship that Omega Leader has a TL on is prohibited from modifying dice.

Omega Leader: Enemy ships that you have locked cannot modify any dice when attacking you or defending against your attacks.

2) The Emperor's ship is the one doing the modifying.

Emperor Palpatine: Once per round, you may change a friendly ship's die result to any other die result. That die result cannot be modified again.

On page 2 of the Rules Reference, there is a definition of the term "you" on upgrade cards:

Many Ship card abilities use the word “you” to refer to the corresponding ship. Upgrade and Damage cards that use the word “you” refer to the ship to which the card is assigned.

So, in the example of Palp+Aces, the shuttle is the ship performing a modification whenever you use Palpatine's ability. That means that if Omega Leader shoots at Fel and has a lock on him, Fel cannot use any focus or evade tokens or autothrusters to help himself because that would be the locked ship performing modifications. However, the emperor shuttle is not locked by Omega Leader and is not prohibited from modifying dice. Therefore, the emperor can be used to modify Fel's defense roll. The only time you cannot use the emperor against Omega Leader is when Omega Leader has a lock on the ship carrying Palpatine.

EDIT: incomplete post.
