It rhymes (and that's a good thing).

A partial list of things that crop up in every Star Wars movie, including TFA:

Whilhiem scream (some poor FO Stormtrooper near the beginning of the movie)

Swinging on a rope (Rey repelling down into the ISD wreck)

Subtitles for alien languages (lots!)

Lightsabre fights (duh). This movie featured the second time a blue sabre beat a red one (Anakin vs Dooku round two was the first)

A chase sequence (the very cool getaway chase in the falcon)

C-3po and R2-D2 (naturally)

Big battle (I think the assault on StarKiller counts, but there was a lot of battling through out)

'I have a bad feeling about this.' Han said it this time around.

Queen/princess/senator wardrobe and hairstyle change (Leia again)

Walkways without handrails (OSHA doesn't exist in that galaxy)

In sure there's more. SW has created its own language of visuals and such, has anyone else noticed things that are literally in every movie?

How about this one. "May the force be with you."

Oh, and if you count the first movie of each trilogy you have a wise old Galaxy-weary man (and father figure for at least one character) get killed by some dude with a red lightsaber.

Also heroes are tortured and/or captured.

I don't remember anyone disguising themselves though...unless Finn counts while he is breaking Poe out of jail. He's not really a Stormtrooper anymore at that point.

Oh and 3po wasn't dismembered at all. Usually he is beheaded, blown apart, loses a limb or eye or isn't even complete.

We did get someone impaled though.

I hear the Novelization has Chewie pulling some guys arm off, so that might be a deleted scene.

I'm betting the limbs start flying all over in the next one.

His saber got cut but it looked like his hand. When he was lying down I distinctly remember him having 2 hands.

After Rey's first successful thrust at him, I thought she'd taken his leg off below the knee, and wondered if they were going to grant his wish of becoming Vader.

Wait. Vader IS the black knight! Now the prequels make much more sense!

Oh i forgot about monsters trying to eat our heroes. Everything wanted to eat Luke in the OT it seems, and the PT continued the trend until RotS, unless you count the Dark Side consuming Vader. TESB even had the Falcon inside a giant space slug, and R2 gobbled up and spat out! JJ went for eldritch horrors this time, good choice. Looked like mynocks crossed with dia nagas and giant brains. It's a good thing so many space pirates were eaten before Finn was grabbed, otherwise he would have been a snack too. Looked like the monster thing (raptor something?) wanted to save Finn for later...disturbing.
