Imperial or rebels for a 9 year old

By badgerclaw171, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

well I was going to teach my 9 year old the game using just the core boxes set

what should I let him play Imperial or rebels.

I was thinking imperial thinking they are more forgiving on mistakes.

is that the way to go?

why not switch side after the first game?

why not switch side after the first game?

yes I can do that but which is more forgivable Imperial or rebels

I want him to have fun and not be upset if things don't go his way.

so like to see him kill some ships that will make him happy.

Imperial would be better. The Rebels, especially in the core box, are harder to use as a new player. Imperials are essentially 'front toward enemy' type of ships. Regardless of age, I've found Imperials easier for new players.

that is what I was thinking too.

I just wanted to see what others was thinking as well or if they see some I was not.

thanks

Definitely imperials.

As everyone has said...imperials are def easier to play in the tutorial game. The 3 by 3 playing space is perfect for that VSD front arc.
