Working on a 100-point Rebel squad!

By hanssaunders, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Here's what I've been wrangling with lately.

Poe Dameron (31) with BB-8 (2), Autothrusters (2) and Weapons Guidance (2) [37]

Corran Horn (35) with Push the Limit (3) and R7-T1 (3) [41]

Prototype Pilot (17)

I don't have Fire Control System available to me, which obviously goes really well with Corran, and I'm not entirely sure Weapons Guidance is super-effective or even needed with Poe (since keeping that Focus token around is a good idea for defense, too), but I am just trying to build a pretty solid squad with what I do have available (from the new core set, A, E, K, Z95, StarViper and Interceptor expansions). Thoughts? I've tried to use the squadron builder, but for some odd reason it tells me I don't have enough ships to randomly generate a squadron...odd.

You're correct in your assumption: Weapons Guidance does not belong on Poe at all.

Also, Push the Limit and BB-8 should be on the same ship, as it allows you free access to PTL.

(Reveal green, Barrel Roll, Push the Limit, Execute Green, Remove Stress, Perform Action)

Most people who use that combo do so on Poe, but whichever you prefer would be fine. R7 is a tricky little droid to use properly, but with experience he can be very effective.

What if I switch it up a bit and instead run

Poe with PTL, BB-8, Autothrusters

Etahn A-Baht with R7-T1 and Outmaneuver

and try to fill out the remaining 24 points with an A-Wing or Z-95.

I would say if you're going to run Etahn you're best to have a mini swarm with him to make the most use of his ability. I would say to spend the 24 on a pair of naked z-95's

I've seen Weapons Guidance used to great effect on Poe from several opponents in a competitive aspect. So not sure if you haven't seen it or played it but I don't think your opinion on that is 100% correct. Agree 100% on PTL and BB-8 though.

Agreed, and if you're not using R5-P9 and you're not in arc of anyone else then weapons guidance is risk free and pretty nasty.

FWIW, there's a box you have to tick, after you load your collection data, called "enable collection" or the random generator won't work. Not sure if you tired that or not?

Unfortunately, I only have one Z-95 available to me!
