Basically this is something I dreamt up in order to try autoblaster turret on Miranda that can throw 4 dice with Jan's ability activated. The most effective hits are those that can't be cancled by dice! When she's not using auto turret, she can just regen her shields or SLAM around the board and flip up crits with Saboteur. Jan is for her ability and to control the biggest hitting threat with ion turret. She can 4 straight out of situations and clear stress for her ability. Tycho is my finisher. He's impossible to lock down and I like expert handling on him to shake locks and barrel roll, since he cares not about stress. As long as I can take down the heavier hitters, he can mop up the turreted ships last.

I see Jan and Miranda as being the main targets of this list. I want to keep Miranda guarding Jan basically and determine who my opponent wants to go for first. If it is Miranda, she can begin to SLAM around to avoid arcs and focus on regenerating shields or flipping crits. If it's Jan, then Miranda will be guns blazing auto turret 4 dice every turn and punishing high agility targets if possible. Tycho is going to be flanking and trying to keep range one shots so his damage goes through. This meta is so stress heavy that I am going to start bringing Tycho to the table to deal with all the stress-based lists.

Your thoughts?

I'm always on the hunt for a place for Jan's HWK-290 in a squad. Combining her with Auto-Turret seems like a solid choice, especially considering that Miranda can amp it up by yet another red. If I'm going to plan on consistently spending Miranda's shields then I would rather take the shield upgrade either for the survival or just the chance to do it one more time, then again... you have Saboteur on there and being able to slam over and turn up a crit at will is a significant threat...

I'd be willing to give something like this a try, but I'm swapping Tycho for VI Jake Farrel.

The significant problem with this ship combo has to do with dice. Red dice. You can't leverage your red dice hard enough, often enough with a bump up to 3 reds. You are going to be playing for optimal setups or not doing meaningful damage. It's a nice idea to throw a 5 red flechette to keep your damage up there, but there are a lot of circumstances where the other player(like you) gets to control range. I bring Suhlak to tournaments way more than I should so I am well aware that a trick "can" work. But I have experienced this sort of dice optimization as being to inconsistent and frankly behind the curve. Maybe homing missiles and Jan make more sense. You need a rebel gun(3 reds) if you want Jans ability to be impactful.

I do like Jake as well. Ran him with Jan and Wedge in my first tournament and went 2-1. But he will get shut down to the double stress of these r3a2 or tactician tlts. Tycho is the ultimate middle finger to stress-inducers.

I agree that this doesn't have a lot of red dice going for it. But ion turret can do some good control to let the others pick away at opponents, remember that any hits from auto turret are scoring through dice so that's pretty solid too with the additional dice for it.
