FFG Dark Heresy Scenario Contest Reminder!

By FFG Ross Watson, in Dark Heresy

Hey guys, just as a reminder, the deadline for submissions for the contest is January 6th. I am really looking forward to seeing a lot of great adventure ideas, so if you have a Dark Heresy scenario you've been itching to write, now is the time. :)

Hi Ross, this is kinda lame question but since I am toying with the idea of the Genestealer inspired short adventure (based on a pretty cool image conveyed by the 1st edition Rogue Trader Genestealer entry) and since I hope that I will have in Disciples of the Dark Gods my grubby paws in next week or two…are there any Genestealer stats or rules concerning Genestealer cults in it? If not I will probably pursue some other idea. I am aware that there are several very nice fan supplements out there but since I will be submitting it to the official competition it would be nice to have some like I don’t know official footing :)

Hi there!

Genestealers have been moved from Disciples of the Dark Gods to Creatures Anathema, so that's where you will find the rules for these gribbly Tyranid monsters.

I know Genestealer cults are popular with a lot of people, but I have to say that I think your chances will be better if the adventure you submit deals with a more fresh and interesting threat than the Genestealer cults. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing your entry.

Hey Ross, PK here, again.

So you confirmed we will be seeing stealers in CA, what about Hrud? Kroot?

Are we only going see established 40K critters that have existing fluff and all new original critters and not pre-existing non-fleshed out 40K critters? Meaning, are you allowed to play with the Hrud, Demiurge and otehr GW critters that we all know exist but havent really been GW fleshed out yet?

Really looking forward to CA probably more then DotDG, not that Im not eagerly waiting to get my nubs on DotDG. **** you Troll and Toad, ship at night.

Well,

I have to politely disagree. Not on the winning part but on a ‘stale’ part of your post :)

I feel that Dark Heresy has to tackle some of the icons of the setting in its own way in order to really claim the setting for itself.

For example, treating Genestealers in a different way, giving fresh spin to something that has only existed through TT battles and board games…In the same way in which WFRP has claimed for itself the right to interpret Warhammer Fantasy Battles fluff by giving it slightly different spin or looking at it from a different angle.

But never mind that. This just means that I’ll have to go for some other idea :)

I strongly suspect that as one of the classic stories of the Inquisition, FFG will write a 'Genestealers infiltrate hive, establish cult and wreak massive havok' adventure as part of a future suppliment. Total speculation of course.

Which is of course why they don't want a fan-written FFG-endorsed adventure to come out before it.

This was a fine time to move house. My computer is out of commission and all my adventure ideas are either in GoogleNotebook or on scrap paper.

Still, I might try for an adventure anyway. No better way to spend the long, cold evenings than writing up diabolical schemes and storylines.

We recently decorated our living room with a variety of wall-mounted candle holders. I've enjoyed working on my contest entry after dark by the flicker of candles (and the glow of the laptop screen ^_^ )

Can you post a link to the rules of the contest? I *think* I saw them once. :)

LOL, it's a sticky. Nevermind. sonrojado.gif

Just want to mention one last time that the deadline for contest entries is January 6th, so if you have a great idea for a scenario, make sure you get it sent in soon!
