Please ignore ColGeneralVatutin ...

By DHKnecht, in X-Wing

There are three threads now from this guy complaining of FFG's business model, calling it "corporate greed" over and over. As per another recent thread, this is the kind of person that needs to get a two week ban. Not because of the complaints, but because it's doing the same thing over and over just to get noticed.

Also, Corporate greed is unethical and occurs when a corporation puts out a product or service it knows can't be used as is, with the purpose of getting you to buy more and more just to make it usable. FFG's X-Wing game is great out of the box, even better with OPTIONAL expansions, and promotes thinking, strategy, and fun times. Buy what you want. Nothing is NEEDED. It's a great business model, not corporate greed. Continual complaining in multiple threads gets you nowhere (except maybe banned).

To everyone else, stop posting in his threads. Let them die. As the old saying goes .... DON'T FEED THE TROLLS.

But if we let his thread die we have nowhere to talk about breakfast.

I think as far as miniature games go, x-wing is very affordable and very fair. Some people just feel entitled to get everything they want for free.

But there's always second breakfast ...

You know you've gone too far on the FFG forums when people start talking about eggs and bacon in your thread.

Breakfast today will be a coffee cake and a praline latte.

Wrong thread.

Breakfast today will be a coffee cake and a praline latte.

Someone's got a sweet tooth! Bacon and soss sammich with HP sauce for me, cheers. And a cup of tea brewed for six hours in an old hobnailed boot.

What on earth is HP sauce?

What on earth is HP sauce?

That's what people at Hewlett Packard drink when they're designing their laptops...

It's impossible to describe. You need to experience it first hand.

Definitely what is known as "an acquired taste".

Well actually...

I hate to say it but, it's not our place to punish this guy. Best we can do is get a mod on him if he continues spamming. Is anyone here a mod? No? Okay then.

Here is the thing. Everyone has a right to their opinion, whether they live in Ukrai... Russia, or the good ol CUBA-SA. They can even have that opinion even if it's really really dumb. Serious. Hell, even racist hillbillies have a right to think that their buck-ass-wards selfs are better than others. That's a fact. You can have any silly notion in your head and no one can stop you thinking it. And good gravy, if you're articulate enough, you can even say whatever the hell you want and nobody can do a damned thing. That's just the way the basic inalienable human rights cookie crumbles. I'm sorry.

Why the hell am I defending this guy? Because when everyone thought I was a thief for something I posted, it felt pretty bad. Now I'm just gonna have to say give it a rest guys, it's one thing to have a laugh, but starting a thread to gang up on someone is not very cool. You know the fact of the matter is that this Col. Vatootie is probably having some IRL issues and he's taking it out on FFG and the board. We should probably limit ourselves to funny pictures and off topic derailments.

Sweet, savory, a little sour?

The ingredients remind me of tonkatsu sauce.

Lol... wait...

I think you should listen to the guy

after all, he's both a colonel AND a general :o

Unless this thread is breakfast spam, then that's okay.

Ignore Vatootie, looks at the eggs...

Quite vinegary and sharp, a little goes a long way... but once you've acquired the taste, nothing else will do!

Here is the thing. Everyone has a right to their opinion...

Sure, but when someone makes 3+ threads on the same topic, then they have gone past the point of posting an opinion.

But it's not our place to stop him, just to ignore him and report him to the mods, they can deal with him. The best/worst thing you can do to a troll is to ignore him. When someone posts 3+ threads with the same topic, they have gone past the point of opinion and into the realm of trolling.

He's posted in all of his threads that he's retracted his argument, so I think everyone can agree to just let those threads fall off the front page. And if you're reading this, ColGeneralVatutin: starting a topic to rant about your frustrations is fine (if unpopular), but there's no good reason to start three different topics about the same subject. Especially all in one day.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled breakfast discussion.

I think it is important to be critical towards FFG. We can all agree on the Raider packing the Advanced fix being bs, right? They bring us an amazing game and as long as they do that we should support them, but they have gotten close to the line (they also have distanced themselves from it, see Imperial Veterans) and should they cross it, compromising the game in the name of profit, we must call them out.

Yeah I know. It's trolling, but why?

I thought this thread was going to go a different way, but now that I see it's all bennies, I think the desired effect has been achieved.

but once you've acquired the taste, nothing else will do!

I say the same thing about kimchi.

When I first saw this thread title, I thought, "Man! Another spoiler thread that didn't have the decency to say "spoiler" in the title." Then I realized that ColGeneralValutin is a user here, and probably not a TFA reference at all :)

Yep, and that's why I asked that he be ignored, not banned. Post your opinion, however undesirable, great. Do it again, and again, and again ... just bad form.

I just don't buy that the Tie Adv was broken. If anything the ship is mildly overcosted for it's generics, but then again only one dude ever flew the Tie Advanced, and that's Vader.

I am actually kind of miffed with the Raider fix because it takes Vaders personal ship and makes it something spammable, which is to me just plain awful. The x1 title should have been unique, and that's that.

Though you are right, companies, especially those in the entertainment field, need to be held accountable. When an obviously broken ware is pushed on the public we have every right to demand recompense, but when a component of a living game becomes less viable? That is nothing to cry foul about. If anything we ought to

recognize that FFG is capable of identifying when something is getting weaker and that they are capable of fixing it.

I know I haven't been around since wave 1, but I seriously doubt that any ship in this game is "broken" or "unplayable" at it's inception. I was talking to a long time vet last night at the shop and he said one of the most enjoyable things about x-wing was that everything always comes back around.
