The Force Awakens... Go See It!

By Donovan Morningfire, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Not posting any spoilers here, but if you were on the fence about going to see The Force Awakens, then I strongly suggest that you go see it.

If you have seen it already, there's a spoiler-heavy thread over in the EotE forum for discussing the film.

JJ Abrams gave us a worthy successor to the original films, with this film having much of the feel and especially charm of those films. The new heroes certainly pulled their weight and then some without being carbon-copies of the original heroes.

There were some significant plot twists that I saw coming, but that was due more to me being older and more learned of the tropes used in media than any direct fault of the movie.

Agreed.

For me, it really captured the essence of episodes iv-vi. It was a worthy addition to the saga.

Now I really want to play in that era!!!

I thought the half hour extended cameo of Jar-Jar was a very brave creative choice.

I enjoyed the fact that Luke Force Choked first.

There's a movie?

What about the part where Lando said ", Finn, I am your father"? I didn't know Billy Dee was going to show up.

And when it turned out that Po'so X-wing was Bumblebee's uncle!? I mean, I can't decide between that and the part where Rey finds the seventh Dragon Ball as the best part of the movie...

Han Solo actually being one jawa standing on another jawa's shoulders was really something I didn't see coming. The implication is that he never was "Han Solo" and just the sole survivors from the sandcrawler crew from Episode IV

So does that mean Chewie is three...?

Wednesday. Holding it together, and haven't spoiled it so far.

I rarely see movies in theatres, saw this and wasn't disappointed. It's a must see and I'll be grabbing the blu-Ray version when it's released.

Yeah, after all these year we finally are getting an entry level bluray player for xmas. Now to go get an OT set and ep7 later..

3 hours till my first viewing.

6 hours counting down..... Bought tickets for 6 ranging from 5 years to 72 years old.

So excited to see David Jason and on older Bobo Fett! Not sure i'm a fan or Chewie's hair style, looks like an 80's throw back.

The climactic battle over the force ghost of the Death Star got me out of my seat cheering.

BB-8 being the love child of R2-D2 and a Tie Fighter was a bold choice.

For me though, the hour long Ewok documentary after the credits was the best part.

Chewie with a Mullet was a very strong choice. I approve! Especially when they shaved the Batman logo in the hair on the side of his head.

The Han Solo and General Leia sex scenes were extremely tasteful its amazing she can still fit in that slave girl outfit.

Now there's an image I just didn't need to pop into my head...

I almost didn't recognize 3P0 with that red arm.
