HotAC TIE Fighter AI web helper (don't expect much ;)

By WickedGrey, in X-Wing

I'm playing Heroes of the Aturi Cluster ( https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/186308-x-wing-co-op-campaign-is-here/ ) on Vassal, and got tired of rolling a d6 and looking up the result in a table, so I made a little thing:

http://elistevens.github.io/xwing-hotac/

Click on the appropriate range and heading, and it will randomly select a move based on the TIE Fighter AI from the HotAC rules. Note that there's no indication that yes, you clicked, and yes, it picked the same move, so you can click the ship icon in the center to clear all moves out.

It's not much, but it should hopefully be useful.

I don't know if I'll get around to adding more features or not. I'll probably add more ships (most likely as we run into them in the campaign). I'd like to add elite pilot cards, but we'll see if my motivation holds up.

Patches/pull requests welcome.

Big thanks to Hinny, armoredgear7, and Geordan for https://github.com/geordanr/xwing-miniatures-font .

I don't play HotAC, but I definitely intend to sometime - especially with helpful tools like this :)

P.S. Not sure if this is a bug or not, but the bottom row, centre square doesn't produce a heading when clicked.

Yep, that's a bug - good catch! :) Fixed now. Thanks!

Good Job!

My Suggestion would be to increase the size of the Icon in the middle (Will help to distinguish ships later when using on a phone).

Works great on iPhone Safari client by the way.

I've added the rest of the ship AIs, and have a toggle bar at the top to set which are to be displayed. Let's hope for zero typos! ;)

Really like the improvements you've made.

Looks very professional, too!

Thanks! Twitter's "Bootstrap" library is pretty slick, and I nabbed the fonts from YASB.

Let me know if you think that there are usability improvements to be made. We used it last night, and it seemed to be pretty smooth.
