There is only one reason that FFG can get away with the ridiculous rules set that is full of rules which make no sense... and the ludicrously expensive ships.

Remove the branding and replace all the ships with purely invented ones and you have a greatly reduced player base, assuming you can get anyone to play at all.

Why are we ripped off by their prices and business model?

Because Star Wars.

It's not right, but that's the way it is.

There is some validity to his concerns, even though his method of expressing them is grating.

To attain validity one must argue intelligently.

The validity of an idea is not dependent on how it is presented.

Communication helps others understand its validity, but it does not determine it.

An idiot describing freedom doesn't devalidate the idea of freedom.

He's not writing anything new, anyway. He has only just discovered it for himself and has decided to vent.

That doesn't change that there are paying customers that are not happy with the way things have gone. It's good for someone looking to possibly get into the game to see it for what it has to offer and what could be improved. It's good for FFG to see what people are unhappy about so that they can consider it for the future.
