Maybe next year you'll get your new X-mas toy from Santa. Maybe. If your nice.
A call for decency. Profit is encouraged, but crooked profiteering on uninitiated and uninformed new players is...
Does anyone else feel like the fell into a FOX News wormhole or something after reading all that? I kind of felt like I should make an emergency tin-foil hat.

I obviously don't know

This is probably the only factual part of all your posts.
To the original poster:
I think you are stuck in the competitive picture of luxury products. There is actually pretty decent play testing compared to a lot of other miniatures games, GW, Warmachine, oh god Star Trek Attack Wing is just a mess. Any mistakes they make is for corrected in a bit down the road and the tournament support is almost second to none (Warmachine might be a bit more professional).
Any competitive play cost a lot of time. Like a lot, like telling your girlfriend quality time is not until an upcoming test is passed. X-wing is a luxury product, you do not need it (with an exception for the falcon, everyone needs a falcon). Luxury products cost money combine that with competitive play and its expensive.
I for one am pretty competitive at X-wing when I attend tournaments. I still do not own Brobots, punishers E-wings or K-wings because I do not like the models, personal preference.
This is were the X-wing community shines. If you are not a complete **** you will have people to play with. I borrow card from people who like the models I hate and they borrow cards from me. I even trade online without other than posting any additional money. If you enter and want to get competitive that takes time, allowing you to slowly build a force to your liking. Just a couple of weeks ago I gave away some ordnance and PtL's to a new guy just getting into the hobby, I was drowning in them anyway.
The community is just fantastic and makes the cost of staying competitive very low to be honest. Even more mad is that FFG is totally fine with this by including multiple copies in expansion packs!
Then you have casual people. The balance of upgrade cards per ship are so good that you can a lot of good games of casual x-wing without any feeling of imbalance. Making the hobby fun for them as well.
Sorry I didn't read your full post but stop playing/buying then. Your wallet speaks more of your opinion than a lengthy forum post.
I'm not sure if you're more mad they continue to sell ships with cards good or that you want to buy everything they sell. From youe bragging about your war room it doesn't sound like your broke. So what's the real problem then? FFG is just trying to sell products, you don't have to buy them. Others like me love all the new ships and upgrades. Bring on all the new expansions!
You guys do realize the OP conceded the point two pages ago and presumably abandoned the thread, right?

Dont care, I wanted to post a high five in my previous post to why this community is awesome for the hobby (and not bashing this guy). ![]()
I think the OP needs a Snickers.
What a load of crap.
I disagree. I really like FFGs idea of coming out with aces and veteran packs. It has a fix for the defender and bomber without buying the Tie Inquisitor. So I do not see a problem with those types of packs.
Let's get back on topic.
Sweet breakfast or savory breakfast?
Or both?
French toast. Mmmmmmm.
I literally ignored this thread until another thread pointed out that it featured breakfast talk. Now I'm intrigued.

How does everyone feel about breakfast... for dinner?

I like the Veteran Pack coming out too. And love the alt paint job. But I would like like a card only Upgrade Expansion Pack. ![]()

One my favourite things to do. Kids love it too. French toast, bacon, sausages. Who says that stuff is breakfast only ?

Omelettes and quiche make excellent dinners. In my opinion.

Momma's pancakes, sasuage and hashbrown's all covered with syrup is probably my favorite Breakfast for dinner ever. Yes I only get it once in a blue moon because it is very fattening, but so amazingly good... Omelettes are also satisfactory.
Manaworm....I stand corrected
Zerotoc also persuaded me the error ps of my ways along with others.

@Zerotc: Now the rest of your aurgument is a real aurgument with real points.
My point is the unbridled part. I want them to make lots of money because I want there to be an incentive. Don't let my username, which I realize now is a problem making these arguments, fool you. I am a ww2 buff and since the soviets won the war I took who was possibly their best commanders name as a username. Brilliant combined arms tactician. Studied him in the War College. He died before the end of the war so h didn't get the fanfare of others and is largely forgotten.
Their is a point were the corporation justs starts unfair practices. Yea only people playing epic should buy the raider. Their should be no unfair incentive granted to epic players than us other players. If epic can stand on its own two feet it doesn't deserve a bailout from us the regular X-wing players. Thank you for the second part of your post.
Right, but the Tantive's C3PO is being given away in a few months at Store Championships. The Gozanti's upgrades are hardly necessary for competitive lists. That leaves the Rebel Transport and the Raider. And those are only necessary if you choose to run lists that are reliant on those upgrades. You have thousands upon thousands of combinations that are competitive.
That's also two ships out of what feels like 50+. Does FFG really deserve all this vitriol? I come from a Warhammer 40K background. Games Workshop deserves that vitriol. FFG certainly does not when you look at the whole picture if you ask me.
It should also be noted that a Raider gives 4 copies of the TIE Advanced title and comes with a TIE Advanced ship itself. Even if you're not selling some of those upgrades (which I probably will end up doing myself) or splitting the Raider with a friend, I view the breakdown as $15 for the included TIE Adv, $15 for upgrade cards ($5 to upgrade 3 additional TIE Advanced). That leaves $70 for a beautiful ship. Still expensive, yes. But relative to a Decimator in terms of material, it seems fair.

Zerotc el al are right. I stand corrected. I will trouble you no more with this line of questioning.
Cheers
OP was enough of an adult to concede and admit to being incorrect (four pages ago).
That's more courage and maturity than a lot of us - including myself - have shown on these forums.
Can we please return the favour by giving him a pass without chastising him any further?
We've all had bad days.
Thanks, everyone! ![]()

Every once in a while it is a good change of pace. However, I need my leanish meat for dinner. Carbs are for breakfast and protein is for dinner. Lunch can be anything.
Mmmmmm. Bacon.
Lunch can be anything.
Really?
X-wing is by far the most cost effective miniatures game I have played. compare what you need to buy for X-wing VS 40k and its staggering! X-wing is a very approachable game and for about 100-150 you can be into it with all you need to have fun for 2 COUNT EM! 2 players to play. I have been collecting since wave 1 so maybe I don't worry about the 4 purchases of new stuff I make a year to stay current but its very affordable. Yes I have no real use for a raider or C90 except for the small ship and cards and that is a little of a drag but those cards have never been a all list auto include. C3PO was the only one that was a must have and even that was only to make a single list work. I have no serious issue with their business model compared to 41 dollars for half a firkin squad of marines! Seriously if GW was running this an A-wing would cost 36 dollars!

The C3PO card would be packaged seperately for $20, as well as a $15 dataslate and only usable if you have Codex: Fat Han ($40) The Falcon could be assembled as the TFA falcon, the ANH Falcon a regular YT1300 and a reel of duct tape, and would be unpainted - costing $80.
The rules you would also need would cost $60 and the templates/tokens etc $50.
Also, depending on if the codex is the writers favourite faction, a TIE Defender would either cost 80 points to field one, with just plain 3 all stats and a white dial, or 20 points, with 4 all stats, ADV slam inbuilt, and free target locks. And you get one free if you run 3 in a squad. I'm looking at you Eldar, Tau, Space marines.
Edited by DariusAPBWow, someone is talking about X-Wing I thought this was a breakfast thread.
I tried Sausage Gravy and Biscuits with extra ground up sausage for the first time a few years ago.
Oh my goodness. I could almost feel my arteries harden as I savored the taste.
Um Um good.
