So few new ships in the movie. We've already pretty much got everything but the three new shuttles, even though I highly doubt the troop shuttle would be worthy enough to be added.
The only use I could see is as a true transport, so with a bunch of crew slots (like, 5 of them) and some nice defenses. Imagine the fun the "Schooling Bus" could have.
True, but there's that new shuttle that Kylo Ren uses that can do the exact same thing and even looks more unique. The troop transport would do great as a resin model for Imperial Assault or whenever FFG does the next Star Wars miniature game.

I think I have to come up with a new title every day now, as the possibilities for shenanigans and hilarity are endless. I know.. Darth would be so bored with me, "all too easy" and stuff, but anyway..

Just saw it for the third time. It gets better each time. I noticed how character drive. It is, a well put together movie. The themes of family, fatherhood, loss and trying to regain connections just resonate through the whole thing. Great humor, great action, the best of what made the OT a saga combined with modern movie magic. It feels like the OT is continuing, it really does. From someone who knows he OT inside and out, who saw them in those crappy 70s and 80s theaters, who saw a puppet become a great jedi master and a farm boy become a legend, this movie is Star Wars.
The rest of the trilogy can't happen soon enough!
Enough gushing, why can't I find any plush rathtars?! They would go great with Hello Cthulhu.

I agree with everything you said. It gets better and better. It feels so much like the originals. I like all the new characters and our original hero's don't disappoint. I could have done without the Rathtars though.
Oh and one more thing didn't the Falcon have TWIN turrets? so why didnt the dude jump to the other one when it locked forward?

Agree 100%. Just got out of my third viewing tonight (and my daughter's second) and it just keeps getting better. Going to see it in IMAX next week. I also grew up on the OT in the 70's and 80's and Ep VII is right up there with those in my book. Loving it, can't wait for VIII & IX.

After the second time I'm now convinced Carrie Fisher steals the show the moment she arrives. She carries every scene she's in and her presence drives much of what happens. I love the way she conveys so much without saying a word. The scenes with Harrison were brilliant. There's a whole story in the way they just behaved around each other.
Better than the prequels. Too much stuff that makes absolutely no sense, is stupid, or not explained in any way for me to really enjoy it fully. Would give 75/100.
Top contenders: No explanation of what the FO is, what the Republic is, what happened after Endor. Why is R2 shut down, and why does he magically wake up for no reason? Why is there a cantina with absolutely no infrastructure anywhere near it for ships/trade/cargo/anything? Why, after the defeat of two consecutively larger Death Stars, does the Empire think building a third one is a bright idea? How do they know where the Rebel base is? Where are all the goddamn capital ships? The entire navy of the Republic is conspicuous by its absence. Why does no-one notice the death-star-ification of a habitable planet? That eats the SUN??? Why has Gollum taken over the Empire?
Like almost everything that is spat out by Hollywood, it's like they didn't bother to sit down with even a dozen fairly smart people, show them the film, and ask "What do you think?". Which is a shame, because the chemistry in the film between all the main characters is excellent (bar the massively underwhelming Ren) and coupled with a plot that actually makes sense and is explained properly, could have been something amazing. As it is, will watch it once or twice more, then probably never see it again.
How does "out of the ashes of the Empire" and the pretty blatant use of Imperial technology not explain the First Order enough?
As for the Republic, I know people like to pretend that the prequels don't exist, but they do help establish what the Rebels were trying to do.
I understand that we have had decades with the EU to spell out things. People have clearly grown addicted to that additional information. Not everything needs to be explained. And, isn't if fun to speculate about what happened again? About how the course of history between movies happened out of the tidbits we are getting?
Just got a second viewing. Was actually better the second time. Things I thought were missing or wrong turned out to be there after ask I just some how missed then, didn't catch them, was looking at something else, etc. Even caught R2-KT this time. Yay!
