God I wish it were about extracting everything possible from the game, like marrow from a bone. But it's more like wanting more and different bones to put with your existing bones...

I just got into Armada (still looking for a local group to play with) and I have only bought on wave 2 expansion. I'd like to get a solid selection together before wave 3 gets announced, if only to give my bank account a break.

Still waiting for the Rebel Fighter pack to come back into stock so I can get a second set of those.

I think FFG is trying to see how many ISDs I will buy between now and wave 3! I have 2 already, but the third is already calling me! I will just have to hold off the temptation with Raiders and R&V packs...

I'm not too concerned with what to buy next, so wave three can take its time in my opinion. Wave 2 was a necessity for the game. With wave 2, the game feels complete to me. More expansions and more options will be awesome, in due course, but with what I currently have, I can play a very thematic, satisfying Star Wars game with a wide variety of potential permutations yet to come.

My roomy has WHC, but we've not played it. That Necron expansion tempts me so baaaad anyway. I have a lot of Netrunner, but haven't played in a long while. Way behind the card cycles, and probably not gonna change that any time soon (even though it's a fantastic game). Too many games, too little me.

I'm personally starting to worry alot about Wave 3, why would they hold it back ? I still see no point of them holding it back whatsoever.

They aren't holding it back, are they? Seems like I recall a Wave just released. I don't think they are holding anything back at all. No need to worry.

Unfortunately, I have more money than sense, unless my wife is asking. Thenot I have spent exactly the amount of the core sets and not a penny more.

I understand this is first world problems so no judgment please.

Thanks to work issues, I don't have more money than sense, so I still haven't bought a single Wave 2 ship yet, and that means I am obviously not at all bored of the Wave yet. Furthermore, unless FFG plans on releasing the Assault Frigate mk1 in Wave 3 (still can't bring myself to buy the Space Guppy), there is little to nothing I really care to see at this point.

Seriously, we're at the point of either Episode 7 (don't like JJ, so I really don't care) or just more EU ships going forward (again, don't care), so I'm perfectly happy enjoying when I can finally get my Wave 2 on, and just waiting how ever long it takes for Wave 3.

Given the number of new ships in E7 (not that many), I don't quite understand how they would make an entire wave out of it. Also, why would they wait with wave 3 announcement if it was E7-related? Would it not be better timing to announce/release it much earlier, like the X-wing E7 stuff?

Have to agree, I think they brought the x-wing E7 stuff as all the trailers had these new FO TIE and the shiny X-wing in it, and even for X-wing it has not become an E7 wave.. For armada, there is simply not enough capship material in E7, so I would not expect anything except maybe a single FO destroyer pack within wave 3.

From a design perspective FFG might still feed well on the available ships for another wave or two, even more so should they decide to grant rogues and villains full faction status.

I think people sometimes forget that even if Wave 3 was announced tomorrow, it will still take 5 months to get here. You will get more than enough time to try everything wave 2 has to offer.

I'm not talking about being bored, i'm worried because Armada took a backseat in FFG's books. No merchandise directly related to the movies. No standing Wave 3 announcement, so no preorders directly connected to the movie, etc. This doesnt bode well tot he point of it being a not very important line for them possibly. Thats what i'm worried about.

Oh, only X Wing. So you are suggesting that all other games are taking a back seat to X Wing, FFG's most successful game? Makes sense to me.

We don't even know (some do) if E7 has enough to warrant an expansion on its own. Of the OT only RotJ had a major fleet engagement, and even still both Wave 1 and 2 are heavily peppered with non-movie ships.

Don't forget we are just coming off a Wave that was announced months earlier than it should have been.

Seems perfectly reasonable, for every single reason I can think of, that Wave 3 hasn't been announced yet. Your fears are very unfounded, and hopefully put to rest.

I just can't see why they'd be waiting until today to say something because of TFA.

I actually wonder if the manufacturing process for Armada ships takes longer then X-Wing or Imp Assault does. That could explain a lot of the delays.

Also you can't look at the wave 3 announcement in terms of how long it's been since Wave 2 was announced, but rather how long it's been since wave 2 was released. For a while FFG was announcing waves for X-Wing before the previous wave was even in stores. That seems to have stopped however. And even then when they did so, quite often it was because of GenCon or some other event that they wanted to make news at.

It's possible that after the problems with the delayed release of waves 1 and 2, that they are making sure wave 3 doesn't suffer the same issues and blowback.

I'm in no hurry for wave 3. I'm enjoying wave 2 and all it has to offer to the game right now.

Hehe, I'm heading out to watch the movie tonight and afterwards having a 1200pt a side game. Surprisingly it is still very tight and can't fit all my stuff. I'm leaving 3 raiders and a gladiator and a ton of fighters in the box...

I wouldn't be surprised if FFG waits until after Christmas to announce wave 2. At the moment the "must murder my wallet to buy everything from wave 2 five times over" fugue state is falling over the community so there's really no reason to mess with success just yet.

They would blow all of our minds if Wave 3 was TFA but I wouldn't put that level of business acumen past a Disney/FFG team-up.

After months of us bitching about delays, you'd think we'd have a slightly longer memory. Every post was bleak and hopeless for months between Wave 2 announcement, and Sullust, and for like a month between Sullust and release.

If FFG waits to announce until the Wave is close, that seems worth waiting for. I'd rather wait to hear anything, and get the Wave in a reasonable time than constantly have the shadow of a future Wave sometime in the next 6 months.

I would like to hear something soon because I want more ships soon. I don't want them to announce June's Wave tomorrow, though.

It's super unlikely TFA will be a part of Wave 3. Not going to say any more than that.

Considering there's only one capital ship in the film, I don't see how they can make a new trilogy wave until the second movie.

Also, I don't expect to see wave three until this time next year.
