So, last night i watched the Force Awakens in the Brazilian premier. As much as i enjoyed the movie, one thing kind of disappointed me, the lack of different ships. Even in Episode IV we had at least two Rebel ships, and it was really weird watching X-Wings in a bombardment mission... So it seems we have only four ships to work in the Force Awakens: the new X-Wing, the new Tie, the old Falcon (with the quadrangular antenna) and a new Imperial Shuttle. What do you guys think about that?

I'm pleased as punch 'cuz it likely means non-interference in the release schedule of things I actually want.
Still, don't forget the TIE/sf; that's a distinct ship.
And theoretically the troop ship Leia used and the First Order stormtroopers used. Those look like they are about in the scale of this game (big ships, like VCX-sized, but still in the right range)
Well the Rebs sure wouldn't mind a 3 crew ship; that's something that hasn't happened yet... but the Higgins boat, while amazingly cool, doesn't really do anything the shuttle doesn't already do.
While it's slightly disappointing to not have some shiny new fighters to drool over, I can understand why it was done. The X-Wing and the Tie fighter are the ultimate iconic ships of each faction, and since both the factions and the ships themselves have changed somewhat, it makes sense for them to want to reinforce the identities of the First Order and the Resistance by keeping the iconic ships front and center.
I must admit that I am partially hoping for a TFA Falcon release with pilot Rey, and crew Finn/BB8.

That's one of those things that's cool in theory, but I don't want a new model for that one change. Now... if they did a "most wanted" style box that was Rebellion/Resistance only, that updated the E-Wing and (say) the Hawk? it would be cool to put extra Falcon stuff in there without a model.
Tie Shuttle, higgins boat 1st order ship and that rebel transporter could all open up a new niche in the game. It would look cool if we were able to run Rens shuttle and the higgins boats on the table.

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't even be upset if they released a rectangular antenna Falcon model as a separate expansion. If they do go that route though, I would hope that it at least contains a fix for the generic (stock) YT-1300.

Y-wings were outdated in the OT man.... they long gone!
I surely was expecting some B Wings upgrades.... Like i said, i loved the movie, but it relies too much in the old mold, it was too afraid to create new designs. Even the new X-Wing is not new at all, it is actually the original design of the ship.

I just saw the movie and I'm sorry but Ren's shuttle is soooo ugly. It's wings are about 5 times to long. I hope we Empire players aren't forced into getting that ship. I do really want the 2 seater Tie with a rear arc when equipt with a crew. That would be awesome!

The same "rear arc" cannon shoots forward too (took out turbo lasers they were flying towards) - not sure if this means the TIE in question forgoes the normal weaponry in favour of the cannon (don't remember the pilot doing any shooting at all in that scene)

Yeah, that was a little bit weird, it seemed that all the lasers were fired by Finn, and Poe was only flying the Tie. I didn't' get it was a different Tie of the rest of the movie.

Given the lack of Resistance ships, my hope is now a Most Wanted size box with the YT-Resistence era with a rectangular dish (and a tech slot) with Han, Chewie, Rey, and junkyard pilots, then General Leia, Rey, Finn, and BB-8 crew cards. Throw in a black and Orange T-70 with Temmin Wexley and Jessika Pava as pilots. Sell for $40.
They don't really NEED to do a new Falcon. They could just release the "rectangular dish" Falcon as an alternate model, with the same stats and some new pilots (like Rey) and new crew, that would also work with the old model if you wished to use them with it.
Just saw the movie.
Apparently, the TIE/FO Special Tie (or whatever it's called) may carry ordinance...specifically, the Mag Pulse warhead. Poe mentioned Mag Pulse during the escape scene near the beginning of the movie.
Alternately, I suppose it could be a cannon/energy weapon. To my knowledge, they're never used by Finn and Poe in the movie.
In game terms, I suppose they'd require a target lock and would assign a "weapons disabled" token.

Having seem the movie, the expansions i expect to see, and what features:
Even more so, YT-1300 Millenium Falcon with square dish and Scum Dials. Scum pilots along with Rey pilot and a Finn crew. I expect a new Falcon title with illicit slot and SLAM illicit upgrade

Has lasers that shot forwards and backwards
Particle cannons was it? So a cannon slot
Poe mentions missiles, so having them too
Possibly a crew slot.
I expect a black leader x-wing paint job
With hot shot blaster upgrade and Nein Numb, Snap Wexley and Jessika Pava pilots.
This might come packaged with the Falcon OR the resistance shuttle.
Kylo Ren's shuttle, and maybe the landing craft.
The large 'whale shark' scum ship could be the epic. Also Guavian death gang gunship?
