While I do agree that the dear colonel does benefit from the TIE/D title, Rexlar also benefits greatly as well. In his case I would run ion. This allows you to take off 1 hull or shield, then make your normal attack, and then spend the focus to make all of those hits crits if the shields were knocked out, and the ion lets you know exactly what your opponent is doing next round, so you can readjust your defender to keep them in arc to keep Rexlars ability in play.

I concur. Since 4 times out of 5, you want Predator on Rex anyway you'll get some modification to both shots before you need to spend a Focus.
