Intensify Forward Firepower Episode 15: The Second Wave's Landing brings Dano, Drunk Tarkin, and Skyshuffler together with a special guest - battle computer R1H4 - to talk about their recent mega-sessions using all the new tools provided by Wave 2 of FFG's Armada. Thoughts on the new additions fill this show, along with a few war stories, and a vicious Vader fight. Master Engineer Lobrad has his work cut out for him as the Flesh Star Destroyer is covered with carbon scoring from all the recent action!

Yay!

For while you're waiting in line tonight. Our waiting in line this morning.

...or waiting anywhere or doing anything.

Must. . . Download. . .

Always enjoy the show lads....goes good with morning coffee....have a jolly season!!

Listening to this on podbean. . . They changed their download system so now I have to listen through podbean. . . Mur. . .

So Raider. . . I think it is one of those ships that like the least amount of upgrades.

Raider 1 Ordnance Experts, 48 points. Fun times

We didn't change it, it's just been available in two places since the dawn of the series. I may have not put the direct download link on the post though- is that what you use? You can find it on iTunes too.

I downloaded it Directly.

I only have my PC with no iTunes, after all...

Wow I missed this coming out earlier today.

Cheerio about to listen.

I don't think people have a proper appreciation for the sheer quantity of damage the R-1 with Ordnance Experts can do.

I certainly have an appreciation for it.

The trouble is the application of said damage. The Boat itself is so fragile it is quite easily neutralised before it can get a shot in... You'd need to be banking on First Player, and have Initiative, to Move Last + Move First, and if you're doing it with a Raider, you're not doing it with Demolisher...

Listened while ignoring my anger and disappointment and playing yet another game with an MC80.

I'm glad there is at least one of y'all that are meh on it.

I think we can all agree cluster bombs are probably the worst cards in the game.

I don't disagree.

The Raider goes pop if you aren't careful with it, and for sure maneuvering it to deliver that damage is the hardest part but... once you've learned how to fly the thing, HOLY CRAP.

It's fast and maneuverable enough to get in and STAY in rear/front arcs, to jump over large ships lengthwise on an attack run, and to take advantage of blocked ships.

I am meh on it too. I dont see a place for it in my fleets I would much rather have 2 AFIIs and 2 CR90s plus squadrons.

Yea...sort of sucks no straight download. It would be one thing if everyone used the same app...but having to download podbean? No thanks.

I have found speed 2 is perfect for my applications. Expecially when my squadrons get engaged.

I totally get that Motti and two six-point turbolaser upgrades is Vader, but what I want to know is, does everyone hate him? Is R1H4 on an island? Is everyone split? I'm really starting to second guess myself but, of course, machines can never understand the force much less the power of the dark side.

Here is the direct download link: http://iff.podbean.com/mf/play/5g6q7a/IFF15.mp3

I have updated it in the original post as well. Podbean changed how they handle that business.

Not by a long shot.

I love Vader.

He takes what is *probably* a devastating shot and makes it *DEFINITELY* a devastating shot.

Even the knowledge that you'll be re-rolling everything you put out can make your opponent play differently.

And also, **** the mathematicians, try him out with Ordnance Experts on Glads and Raiders. Double rerolled black dice are terrifyingly dangerous.

I certainly have an appreciation for it.

The trouble is the application of said damage. The Boat itself is so fragile it is quite easily neutralised before it can get a shot in... You'd need to be banking on First Player, and have Initiative, to Move Last + Move First, and if you're doing it with a $SHIP, you're not doing it with $OTHER_SHIP...

Without the context, you could be talking about the Raider or the MC30. Both big gambles for big gains.

And I have no issues with that assessment, either... The only difference being that the MC30 has options for some measure of defending itself, the Raider does not, relatively speaking... But you'd expect something like that from something that's +50% cost at a minimum over the other.
