Finally the Tie Bomber generics got a EPT now ... I gather my 4 generics Bomber squad and I am happy ...

... but wait ... after I am finally able to get Deadeye equipped ... and Extra Munitions ... I have only 3 points left for Ordnance .... NOOOOOooooo! I want to have Concussion Missiles!

.... they should have released a title that grant a EPT for our old Gammas ... the new Gammas are too expensive by one point after EM ...

OK my plans ... to have 4 Gammas + Deadeye + Concussions ... at some point in the future after a Bomber fix ... aaah ...failed

I'd run a gamma like a quarterback. Have the interceptor and Fighters tie up first, have him slowpoke behind repeating missiles and torps before a final bomb push.

This said, yeah, i know it. I prefer to run flight groups.

3 bombers, heavy loadout.

Why not just replace one by Jonus for a perfect 100pts?

Also, since you have LRS anyway, I would go with Crackshot instead to make the Alpha Strike even more deadlier.

What I would like to try is:

Maybe the title Tie Shuttle on Jonus with a Field Officer and Twin Ion Engine. 18 pts left for a little flanker, maybe Backstabber.

I'm mostly fascinated by the power of crackshot + homing missile

so much evade canceling (no range 3 bonus, no evade token, -1 evade result from any source)

as above, not sure where the unique ept guy comes from apart from the legion of unique pilots

If you haven't tried N'Dru + Crackshot + Homing Missile (+ Glitterstim), you should. Clusters + LW never performed as well as this combo for me.

I'm most excited to finally play some bomber spam lists again:

5 X Scimitar + Concussion/Proton/Clusters + Long Range Scanners

I think that will be a great start to test out just how good Long Range Scanners will perform.

While this could work, my style is more like 4 generics with all the same equipment ... so they should be 25 points each.

Maybe I'll go with the old Gammas + LRS and Homings

If we're talking Bombers only...

Jonus - TIE Shuttle, Fleet Officer, Tactician

2X Gamma - Extra Munitions, Crackshot/Concussions or DeadEye/Clusters

Scimitar - Extra Munitions, Proxy Mines

30 HP PS5 with TL/F/Crackshot on the opening salvo.

I don't think four Gamma Vets is super viable, there's just not enough room to put an effective amount of boom on four of em'. Best I could figure for them is dropping Deadeye and just running four with a double tap of Concussion Missiles, though you're putting yourself in a precarious way with no bombs or short range ordnance.

With that said, LRS absolutely opens the door for a squad of four Generic Bombers. If you want to avoid Predator and shoot before TLTs, maybe...

Gamma Squadron Pilot x4: Extra Munitions, Plasma Torpedoes, Seismic Charges, LRS

Plasma Torps are cheap enough to squeeze on but still pack a nice punch, and now you have Seismic Charges to punish the enemy for coming in too close.

Gamma Vets, however, I definitely see working better as a single pilot or maybe in a pair. You want their various explosives and ability to actually take advantage of Deadeye their to compliment the weakness of squadmates, which for 26-28 points... well, it's not too shabby.

2 Gammas, LRS, Concussion Missiles, EM = 48

2 Gamma Vets, Deadeye, Concussion Missiles, EM = 52

You get 4 Alpha Striking bombers, but if you chase an ace away for a couple turns, the Gamma Vets can still fire their missiles at someone else.

now we can do it in the empire, so I'll give it a shot :P

"problem" is there's tons of options

could either go for the Bren gun (crack shot + homing + extra munitions; possibly scanners) for 32 points, flanked by a pair of Juking Tie/x7 Glaives

could go for two Gamas (crack shot + homing + extra) @ 27 each, enough for 26 point Omega Leader (ptl + WG or Juke + relay) and 20 points left over for either Epsilon Ace + WG or seismics on the Gamas and a 16 point Tie Fighter

Only bombers is a bit of a task. I think 3 + a support or flanker or blocker is going to yield better results.

once I got the aces pack 2 or 3x, how do I get 6-7 bombers with munitions onboard?!

and why do the 6 defenders have to play somewhere else?!

turns out this Tie can be run only mostly bombers

mostly bombers means slightly other Ties

such as Bren (crackshot, homing, munitions, seismics) [34] and 3 Omegas (juke + relay)

now with all bombers, there's only one thing you can do

go through your pockets and look for four scimitars
