the MC30 Torpedo has black and blue dice in it's armaments. If i take Ackbar and Enhanced Armaments which would add +3 red dice on side attacks, could i attack at long range only OR can i ONLY attack at close and med (and then add the +3 red dice) since my original battery doesn't have red dice??
Edited by thanosazlinMC30 Torpedo + Enhanced Arm and Ackbar
When you take
Enhanced Armaments
your
Battery
Armament is increased by 1 Red Die. You do not add to the Pool like Ackbar, you take
all the dice in your Battery Armament and throw them to form your dice pool.
This gives you the Basic One Red Die to throw at Long Range, to which you can
Add
Ackbar To at the appropriate time*.
Enhanced Armaments is one of Three Cards that actually Increases Battery in the game. The other two being restricted to Black Range ( Expanded Launchers and Rapid Reload )
* Do be careful about Obstructions, this will remove that One Red Die before you get a chance to add Ackbar to if you're at long range...
Edited by Drasnightaok cool gotcha about the Obstructions, so make sure i avoid them until i get to med range or close range, then i can add ackbar no matter what as i would have plenty of dice.

Noting, of course, that these are ALL "Modifications".

I'm going to check, but what is the timing on obstruction die removal? If it's simultaneous with Ackbar you could still add his dice.

It is not.
RRG, Obstructions:
"If an attack is obstructed by one or more ships or obstacles, the attacker must choose and remove one die from his attack pool before he rolls dice during the “Roll Attack Dice” step."
Ackbar applies after the Pool has been Initially Rolled, as an Add to the Pool effect.
It is something that I had to check the timing of myself before

Thanks, I couldn't recall.
That's good for me. I don't need the local MC30s getting any ideas.

Have no fear: TRC is still way better.
