Systems Officer - New Imperial crew in Imperial Veterans

By SmartCookie, in X-Wing

Internet, anyone out there who can enhance the image to see what the text on the new Imperial only crew in the Imperial Veterans box says?

See the third card from the left in the upper half of the bottom card fan...

swx52_spread.png

It looks like:

"After you...

maneuver...

Then I can't make out the rest.

Help me internet, you are my only hope!

Hell. At least add a "?" to the title or everyone comes here thinking the card has been spoiled.

Sorry

Looks like

"After you"

"Manoeuvre"

"Friendly"

So presumably after you do a [maneuver], a nearby friendly ship gets to do something. I'd assume we're looking at a not-quite-but-similar ability to Lando, in the same way Swarm Tactics is a watered down version of Roark Garnet, Opportunist is a watered down version of Zeta Leader, and Wingman is a watered down version of Epsilon Leader.

3rd line is "friendly" for sure.

After you perform a green or white

Maneuver and perform an action a

Friendly ship may also perform

The same action.

The same action.

If that's correct I'm barrel rolling the Palpmobile!

Looks like Imperial Only, which I missed the first time I looked at it. Guess they don't want Rebels getting all crazy with the action economy -- this is clearly to improve Imperial synergy.

The most popular hypothesis, which has been mentioned in several of the threads talking about the expansion, is that it will be a companion crew to the Fleet Officer and somehow give friendly ships target locks.

Almost certainly named systems officer

Almost certainly a crew

Imperial only

Does something after you execute a maneuver.

That is all that is known about the card thus far.

I'd guess it's some crew that is useful for Bombers. I'd bet it gives out Target Locks after you perform a maneuver. Makes sense as another option to "fix" ordnance.

If I were to make a guess at complete text:

"After you [perform a green]

maneuver[, choose another]

friendly ship [at range 1,]

that sh[ip performs a free]

[target lock action.]"

All the non-bracketed stuff is what I can read when I zoom in.

A general "free action" crew would be EVEN cooler though.
