Scenario Idea: Bang the xwing game.

By Quimeradc, in X-Wing

I'll have a 6 players game tomorrow and was wondering how to make it work. Our first option is 2 vs 2 vs 2 but that tends to get people to gang up on some one else.

Then i realized we could play with the bang cards or something like that.

One option is to do it randomly.

The second option is to have the sides set by faction which is more tematic.

If going by the secind option we would have 3 imperial players, 2 rebel players and a scum player. The empirials want to blow up the main rebel ship, probably the milleinium falcon. The rebbes want to wipe the empiral ships. The scum want to destroy the Falcon, but only after the empirial players have lost.

THe other way to do this is to gve one of this factions in secret to each player so o one would know who is playing which side.

What do you thing aboutthis idea?

My favorite 6 player games are small teams 2v2v2 or a free for all. We normally only play 24 points (no named pilots), sometimes 40 point named. With 24 points we put out face down upgrade cards (normally 1 time use, like bombs, or hull/shield). This gets people to go into the middle to grab an upgrade before someone else. Can only hold 1 upgrade at a time or you must drop your old where you pick up new. Seemed to be very balanced as a bomber won last time with flechette and homing with failsafe. Tho he picked up a proton bomb, which was pretty thematic. Took out a push Saber after double stressing it with flechette.

If you really want it to be like Bang, then you're going to have 1 guy who's the "sheriff." Maybe in this scenario, make him the "customs officer," and "junior customs officers," "rebels," and a "pirate." The Pirate has to beat everyone to win, so that he can reap all the rewards. Rebels have to kill the customs officer. CO and JCOs need the CO alive at the end to win. Been awhile since I've looked at the Bang rulebook (Samarui Sword is superior, btw) but I believe you'd have one CO and one JCO, three rebels, and 1 pirate. Factions don't have to match, necessarily (though yeah, you've got the thematic option), you can explain it away as being post-ROTJ and ships not quite so easy to identify as for one faction or another.

That sounds neat. :)

we tried a Coup Reformation type game once.

basically there's two teams, but you can change your own team as an action, or force another player to change teams as an action and gaining a stress token.

it was really fun. I have the more detailed rules somewhere else.

phrasing?

phrasing.

I suggest a game with 2 teams. Having more than one objective on the table is essential, unless you like flying in a 3x3 square with 600 points of ships.
