What interesting combo's can we come up with here.

I mean you could put Vader on a Bomber, as well as Tactician.

I'm all in on Vader for this thing. It's not going to be a Doomshuttle, hammering at whatever gets in its path. It will be more of a reserve piece, hanging back and making a very uncomfortable are for certain ships to operate in. 19 points for a Scimitar is cheap.

The TIE shuttle's a poor man's Lambda: it lacks in offensive punch and upgrade options (its two crew are its only upgrades, whereas the Lambda packs a cannon slot, system slot and a Class 3 primary weapon) but at five points less it's a solid option if you need a dirt cheap carrier for one or two crew. A Fleet Officer Lambda's going to set you back 25 points at least whereas a TIE shuttle clocks in at only 19, cheaper than the base Lambda. Now the TIE shuttle exists you get the Lambda if you want a fully loaded support ship that can fight too and you want a TIE shuttle if what you want is the crew rather than the ship.

These cheap Scimitar Shuttles cost you about the same as a TIE fighter or Z-95 ace and share their offensive power: they don't set you back much at all unlike the support Lambdas. The most obvious build is the Fleet Officer, an upgrade that didn't really take off on the Lambda but on a Scimitar Shuttle costs only 19 points. This is a pretty big Rexler Brath or Kir Kanos enabler and improves the non-Fel TIE interceptors too. The Scimitar Shuttle can keep up with those interceptors too unlike the Lambda which has a pretty big battlefield footprint and isn't exactly famed for its speed.

In the TIE defender vein, the Scimitar Shuttle also can act as a powerful spotter for Vessery if you're not using ATC TIE advanced if equipped with Weapons Engineer.

It also opens up a lot of Imperial stress control which was previously the domain of the Rebel Alliance. Tactician and Mara Jade costs only 21 points, allowing the Stress Shuttle to merrily Koiogran 5 right into the enemy squadron and dish out the stress.

It can also be used as a potent Scanner Shuttle, able to take two Intelligence agents for a mere 18 points and give low PS arc dodgers the edge. It's fast enough to get in close enough to scan and cheap enough that you can afford to lsoe it. and ch It's a very good partner for the TIE phantom, allowing it to know enemy movements before it decloaks just like in the bad old days. Any TIE shuttle taking one crew can become a Half Scanner Shuttle for a mere 1 point.

It also solves the Jonus dilemma: Jonus isn't cheap so you don't want to use him as just a secondary weapon Howlrunner, but you really don't want to kit him out with ordnance as he can't buff his own. I can see the TIE shuttle and Jonus going hand in hand. Fleet Officer lets him both hand out focus and do his target lock to his wingmen, allowing nearby bombers to pull off Focus Target Lock shots in one round on Spend Your Target Lock ordnance. He's a bigger investment but that second crew slot means he can add a defensive ability. Jerjerrod and the Determination EPT make him practically crit-proof, Isard'll give him evades as soon as he's hurt in any way and Rebel Captive can deter shots at him.

Finally, the Scimitar Shuttle can be used to make the world's cheapest Doom Shuttle. Vader on a bomber has three shots, or four with Hull Upgrade. I'd probably still go for the more durable Lambda (I personally reckon it's more efficient for Doom Shuttling) but it's not a bad source of budget autocrits.

I agree. Fleet officer is now a valid choice. I look at the Tie Shuttle as more of a support piece. It can really help boost swarms of bombers or fighters.

Well, I can't vouch for it being a "good" combination, but the thought of using a Gamma Squadron Veteran with TIE Shuttle, Mara Jade and Intimidation seems like it could be fun.

I say Tomax Bren w/ Title, Mara Jade, and Crackshot.

He gets to jump into things, cause stress, and his shots are worth it.

It is now a really cool support ship.

I'm leaning to 20 points for Mara Jade and Intel.

Also, Fleet Officer with Vader, for a ship with both early-game and late-game effectiveness

I just realized.

They finally got their HWK.

Fleet officer and Mara will be fun to try. Regardless of what we all use I'm glad we're getting the shuttle title.

I think the better combos have been hit. I did run fleet officer + rebel captive and liked it although I'm not sure it was key. Ran Vader + captive too but didn't like it nearly as much although iwasn't facing arc dodgers that game.

I believe Vader in a shuttle is a folly. In most cases all I can imagine is the shuttle getting one Vader hit before vaporizing. The return on investment doesn't seem worth it, even for that few points.

What goes good on the shuttle depends a great deal on what it is run with. One combo I have been testing is with weapons engineer and Col Vessery with TIE/D. Getting the target locks out there really opens Vess up to do some serious damage. If I can fit it in I also like to put the fleet officer out there. That really amps up potentials.

You may have missed that it actually loses all Bomb, Torpedo and Missile slots....as in no ordnance at all on the shuttle.

Jonus if running lots of secondary or Scimitar pilot if not + fleet Officer + Rebel Captive (ideally also some sort of defensive mod if you can spare the points. Make something the enemy really wants to kill but also really doesn't want to shoot at.

I particularly like the Troll Shutte (Scimitar with Intelligence Agent and Mara Jade) for 20 points, but I'm sure Jonus with Fleet Officer and Wired will see some play too. Not sure about the remaining crew slot, but Intelligence Agent, Tactician and Rebel Captive all seem like decent choices. 27-29 points isn't so bad.
