IA and R2-D6

By Offswitch, in X-Wing

Given how we are seeing loads of new 1pt EPTs coming in aswell as the glorious IA; I can see a bit of potential in this droid to give the X-Wing some cool subtle tricks.

Namely either Biggs with IA, determination, R2-D6. Bigss obviously does what Biggs does better now but this gives you a chance to discard damge without using you IA. A bit of a long shot at times but definetely something that can put the game in your favour.

I also like the look of Red Squadron with IA, R2-D6 and draw their fire. Taking that brutal crit away from somebody else then discarding it is pretty cool.

Both of the above are good combos as they don't need to be in arc for you to get use out of them which is a problem for the X-wing but alternatively you could run this....

Red Squadron with IA, R2-D6, Cackshot.

This is a great alternative to a Y-wing with TLT if you already have a few of those in your list. Sometimes you just need that chance to do abit of burst damage and I think this guy would make flying your Y-Wing lists a bit more exciting and more competitive in the mirror match.

Could be underwhelming buta little bit more fun than just using R2-Astromech.

When IA was announced I posted a quick idea based on giving Garvin R2-D6 and VI. Bumping him up with 8 would let him throw his token after shooting to a lot of good rebels, instead of being hamstrung with his middling PS.

wOW! Was I confused. I thought you meant Intelligence Agent. Which is what IA was used as an abbreviation for since it released years ago.

I thought he meant Imperial Assault.

For future reference, could people please at least ONE time in their initial post, spell out what their acronyms are referring to? I ask because as more and more upgrades come out we are seeing duplicates. Plus I'm getting older each day and cranky. And my brain starts to die and darkness is my old friend.
