I recommend playing another 50-100 points so you can have three ships and more squadrons unless you're doing the tournament scene. Surprised by all this need to stay at 400 points. What about 475 ...525.

Does this game revolve around tournaments and this forum is only people care about such things.

Cheers

Just get rid of Jana's light and spend it on one veteran captain if you insist on playing 400 points like 96% of the players.

Call this list eps all fry, small fry, small fry in Jana's light you all got hitched to a measly 400 points because of the tournament scene and this forum is a practical waste for folk who want real battles.

List looks productive, the mix of ships will give you more variety and adaptability though could limit consistency/predictability of your results.

For objectives I'd look at something like:

Advanced Gunnery - MC80 loves it, doubly so with Ackbar.

Contested Outpost - MC80 is slow, this will bring them into your firing arc.

Intel Sweep - MC80's slow, but can be used to get in the way of their objective ship along with a couple more to limit them to a couple of objectives, while your objective ship hides behind them picking up yours

Not fully sold on Intel Sweep, but felt like an ok fit for what you've got there.

It's a good list.

There is no reason to stick an AF in there unless you give it Gunnery Teams.

That's a pretty fair point actually. Not sure where I'd go to find the points for it though. Drop an A-Wing, perhaps? That means you've still got two of them to delay deployment, and it'll give a bit more of an initiative bid.

I strongly second this opinion. Ackbar need GT on the AF. It is just one of those things.

Reduce the MC3O to a torpedo frigate as you'll still get those reds, en reds with blues, and then reds with blues and blacks. That saves you 6 points and drop Juana's light for 2 and you are there.

If he drops to a Torpedo Frigate, without paying 10 points for Enhanced Armament, (and thus giving up Turbolaser Reroute) he will not get Reds unless he is in Blue Range.

This is due to Ackbar adding to the Pool.

When you attack, you Collect your Initial Dice that are available due to range. In this Case, at Long Range, the Torpedo Frigate goes "I collect 0 Dice." in its pool, and as there are no dice in its pool, the attack is immediately cancelled with no regards to Ackbar.

So that's a much, much, much trickier concept.

Good point and I missed that, but my idea of getting into blue range on the flank still stands as a reasonable why to give the AF gunnery teams. He is only going to be firing out of that desire arc so he needs it and I can't see where else the points come from except dropping Juana's lit and the TRC.
