Imperial Veterans pack announcement!

Vess gets tie/d

Tl both attacks

Rexlar stays in the box

Off Topic question. Why would you go for a Flechette Cannon over an Ion Cannon? They both do 1 damage, they both are range 1-3, the Ion is only point more but forces a White 1 Straight but the Flechette allows any white or green maneuver and with green?

Rex either takes the TIE/x7 title, or runs without a title and sticks with his HLC.

I'm curious what the average damage of Ion Vessary in a TIE/D will be compared to HLC Vessary.

Why would you go for a Flechette Cannon over an Ion Cannon?

A couple thoughts...

You may only have 2 points left. Sometimes you just can't free up a point.

Sometimes a stress is going to be more useful than a Ion would be.

Also, you could mix and match. Two defenders with the TIE/D title, one has a ion, the other a flechette.

Tomas Bren is very interesting. I almost like the idea of putting Adrenaline Rush on him, effectively giving him a white K-Turn (and hard two!). Then you can flip around and keep unloading ordnance after your pass, or even more amusingly, you could flip with the white K-Turn and launch a mine backwards into the enemies face!

Crack Shot seems obviously good on him, too, since you could load up on ordnance and use CS to virtually insure it punches through.

Lightning Reflex could also be amusing given his high PS, allowing him to just whip around and keep putting Cluster Missiles down your throat (what's the ruling here? Do you get to take an action after activating the reflexes?)

Cool Hand... mostly just means stressing him will punish you. Guess you could give him the Shuttle Title, a crew member with an action (fleet officer?), and Experimental Interface to keep stressing yourself and producing tasty, tasty free tokens.

A TIE Phantom can cloak when it's ionized, but not when it's stressed? Stress is most useful when you can pile more than 1 token on, so more ways to do that helps out a lot.

Two interesting and competitive(-looking) titles for two different play styles. Very cool!

Yeah. The x7 title will be awesome for close-in knife fights, because it will get you there in one piece, and you'll have a focus and evade token on 4k turns.

Which title do vess and Rex get?

Probably /D, but my brain hasn't really begun to work out possibilities for cheap Juking named Defenders (thanks FGD).

Ps 8 tie bomber = infinite crackshot

Henceforth he shall be known as the drug dealer

The only problem I can think is:

1. Pretty sure he only effects himself

2. Even if he doesn't, he can only do it once a round and immediately after a card is used.

3. Named bombers are already notorious for being focus fired down quickly, and Crack Shot will just put a bigger target on his back.

I still think it'll be an excellent use of his EPT slot, but being able to perpetually K-Turn with the Bomber's mediocre dial and still modify your dice/launch ordnance... that could be huge. Similar if Lightning Reflexes works that way.

And you could totally run him as a support ship alternative to the Lambda (only a lot more maneuverable!) in which case Cool Hand is his best friend.

This is all so good!

Looks like Maarek has the same text as his TIE Advanced version?

So if they are opening up the possibility of the same character in different ships, is this a clue as to future releases? Corran or Tycho in an X Wing, Keyan in a Y? Soontir in a Rebel ship? Luke on a Tauntaun?

Of course it only affects himself, he'd be BROKEN otherwise

Anyway, crackshot is easily THE ept of choice. None of the others matter if you can't punch damage through, and crackshot let's him contribute even without ordnance

Have to wait for the faq on fcs and long range sensors to see which over rules the other.

From the Rules reference... "If a card ability or mission effect uses the word “cannot,” that effect is absolute and cannot be overridden by other effects."LRS says 'cannot' so that trumps everything else.

Long range sensors isn't faction specific this will impact Epic in a big way I think.

Still limited to attacking at range 1-3 and Epic ships can't take normal modifications.

So the tracer missiles are not completely useless with long range scanners. You just have to ensure that all ships are at range 3 of the defender as well as range 1-2 of the attacker and they all get a free target lock. So fly your ships in a tight formation? You could put tracers on your lowest ps ship to have them all reacquire their locks during that first range 3 exchange, after they have spent their first locks.

It is a shame that they FAQ Colonel Jendon or Major Rhymer. Colonel Jendon is really ham strung buy the range 1 limitation and if Colonel Jendon could fire range 3 missiles from range 4.

And Crack Shot doesn't matter if he's either dead or struggling to line up shots. Adrenaline Rush of all things makes him considerably harder to pin down and will help him keep lined up with modified attacks more often.

I'm not arguing that Crack Shot isn't going to be fantastic on him, because it is. All I'm saying is that the other three options give the Bomber some versatility that's pretty unprecedented with the the ship and they're worth a look. With that said, I look forward to running Shuttle Bren with CS and Rebel Captive.

But I also look forward to giving him a whirl with Adrenaline Rush and Homing Missiles.

Just a friendly reminder to those considering Rexlar with TIE/D you will need 2 focus Tokens to flip cards up on both attacks, I am Curious about the unspoiled Ace (a 3 Named Ace list I don't think is able to fit into a 100 point build even with X7 or if it does it will mean no upgrades)

I guess I will just need to convince my group to start going up to 125point matches or playing more escalation

AHHH!! I'm so excited for his! I am in heaven! I'm buying two right out the gate!

E-Wing and Y-wing Veterans Next. Calling it. Even if the Y-wing doesn't need much of a buff (like the tie bomber here), it will probably see it's role broadened (like the tie bomber here). And maybe some EPT's.

Think that other bomber pilot is Deathfire? The guy we all that Deathrain was going to be when the punisher was announced

"Deathfire" McDibs... whoever came up with that...

Bomber and Defender expansion...this was exactly what we all wanted to have!!! Big thumbs up!!!

Lets cross our fingers they left the McDibs portion of the name off the card...

Well, FFG is keeping the game exciting, that's for sure. I'm looking forward to this expansion, whenever it becomes available.

I bet long range scanners show up in another faction's expansion shortly.

So if you are running the Tie/x7 title and get blocked while attempting a 3, 4 or 5 speed maneuver do you still get the evade token? If so then thats adds a nice dynamic to the card.

There isn't a ton of ships that can even use it is there? I only count the Bomber, Punisher, K-wing and Slave 1.

Ehh, Y-Wings are doing good now. E-Wings and X-Wings more likely IMO.

Yes, you still executed the maneuver, even if you were blocked.
