ST-321 question

By doktorzli, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi all, I'm an X-wing noob, just getting into the game. I have a question about the ST-321 title card and it's effects. I understand that with it you're able to target any ship in the game and then if you use Jendon, transfer your blue target token to any friend ship at range 1. My question is - if I lock a ship at the beginning of the round, can I transfer the token to a friendly in that round's combat phase because the range at which friendly could target lock that particular enemy is still beyond R3? And can I transfer the token to ships that can't target lock themselves?

Thank you all for your time :)

Yes to both.

Passing a TL token is not the same as performing a TL action. Where the token came from, how that ship got it, or if the other ship can perform the TL action doesn't matter.

The same goes true for most tokens as well. You can pass a focus token to a ship that's already taken the Focus action, for example, and it can spend both tokens in a single turn. Or you can give an evade token to a ship that can't normally perform the evade action.

The key thing to remember is Tokens are not actions. So while you can only perform one Focus Action per turn, you could in theory have 15 focus tokens given to you in a single turn.

Yes. One typical thing to do is transfer a TL to an Interceptor in the first round and send him off to pursue the target.

Thank you very much for the replies, it really helped :)
