Imperial Veterans Expansion

The Long Range Scanners is interesting... swx52-long-range-scanners.png I think the only way to read that is you can get a TL on a ship anywhere on the table, same as the ST-321 title.

Anywhere on the table but close-medium range. It also locks you out completely from acquiring target locks from any source at that range, so a Punisher would want to be careful when combining this with FCS. You'd get the free lock at R3, but won't get anything when attacking at R1-2.

Hey, another source of Crackshot. I guess I don't have to get a fourth Khiraxz and can wait on a second Hound's Tooth.

Tie shuttle title seems to remove the torpedo/missile slots and adds two crew slots, but you can't have a crew that costs more than 4 points.

Yeah, I'm...just not sure what I'd do with that?

Scimitar with Intel Agent and Fleet Officer for 20 points? Sure, but...why bother?

Yeah, I'm kind of mixed opinions on this card. It seems like it would be solid for that opening alpha strike from scrub bombers with missiles... but after that, you're likely stuck in the furball and down one of your action options.

Further experimentation required.

Jonus with Fleet Officer. 2 nearby bombers or Punishers can fire Ordnance with both rerolls and focus tokens. That's going to be a hell of an alpha strike

Bombardier with Deathrain?

I call dibs on the "TOMAX IS ON CRACK" list name.

What is that, once per round when you discard an <EPT> flip that card back up?

So infinite crack unless he smokes two in a round?

I'd use it for some sort of support ship. Make the rest of your list stronger. With 6 hull the thing will stick around for some time.

You'd still be limited to a single use of any given action. But you'd not have to discard it so those one shot talents can be used every turn.

I have to say though... I think that this is a killer pack for both the bomber, but much more so for the Defender. I don't know if I see anything there that would actually make me buy it.

If you are a defender or bomber fan, it's a no brainer, but I don't really consider myself either of those.

That said it's interested that it's Imperial Veterans... So we'll likely have a Rebel Veterans pack at some point. That means it went from Aces to Veterans, so the next pack will be Imperial/Rebels Normal-guys, followed up with Imperial/Rebels scrubs. ;)

What is fascinating is that it doesn't really help the current builds of Rexlar and Vessery. I mean, giving up HLC on those guys is going to be a very tough decision. Though, the other options are interesting.

But I'll be getting two of these.

Best part IMO, is there's 2 of each title, so 2 packs should be all you need, same with the Rebel Aces pack.

nope, it's not.. @all we need.

I know, mini-addiction can be cured.. but who wants that?!

2 packs for me, and 1-2 in the future, I guess ;)

What about the Scum? That M-3A Scyk is not going to fix itself? :(

Bombardier will be a terrible crew choice on a TIE Shuttle.

Does it lose the bomb icons, too? Only mentioned torp and missile.

Surely ion+TL 3 primary is on average doing more damage than a 4 dice HLC?

*diverts auxiliary budget to minis budget*

Yeah, but spending 1/4 of your list on that?

I mean...it's good...but is it that good? I...just...I dunno. Not feeling it...

THIS! This was the card that made me laugh out loud for joy when I read it ... then pee my pants when I saw it's FREE!

This is what's needed to get generic Bombers/Punishers into the ordnance game.

What do you think the odds are of Maarek keeping the same ability, along with Deathrain? I don't have a magnifying glass with me.

Maarek says:

Whe...

Damag...

dra...

1 to...

His old ability was:

Whe n your attack deals a faceup

Damag e card to the defender, instead

dra w 3 Damage cards, choose

1 to deal and discard the others.

It's the same ability.

The Mangler is also 4 points, so your Maarek combo won't work.

****! That means he sucks!

It was going to be such a beautiful combo!

Maarek's ability is useless without the Mangler, and the Mangler doesn't work with the Defender's awesome new Title! Wtf!

Looks like cross-faction pilots like boba get different abilities while pilots in the same faction keep it (Hera, Stele).

Vader in an Eta-2 seems like an excellent possibility now. Good to see Maarek in a ship he actually flew!

Awesome, thanks!

While he's awesome with the Mangler, you could feasibly give him Calculation and an Ion Cannon to keep him on the cheap. Chances are he'll be 34 points standard. Give him the above + Mk 2 engines and he's a mean 39 points.

You could throw 5 TIE's in there, or two other defenders, or any number of possibilities.

Agreed the Tie Shuttle seems to be the most underwhelming portion of the list for me as well.

That and the fact that there are NO NEW BOMBS! :(

Also you get the AA/BB TL tokens again.... which is a repeat. That's new.

Also Scum Han, Chewie and Lando will switch up pilot abilities! (Chances of Scum versions of YT pilots may be slightly exaggerated)

Ahahahahahahaha oh yes

Vessery with Ion Cannon will be murdering everything twice now. And Defenders rocking tractor beams can token-strip with their cannon... or have the enemy left with an Expose if they don't.

This changes everything. It is fantastic.

(Oh, and the bomber fixes look promising too... but we'll see. Slave 1 Bounty Hunters with long range scanners, maybe? Hm.)
