*IF* we get Maarek in a Defender, my assumption based on the recent release of Hera in two different ships would be that he keeps the same pilot talent. If this is the case, he would pair nicely with Mangler Cannon.

Feeling pretty confident it will come with Tractor Beam. Really hoping the Defender gets some Ion/Beam versatility.
Given that the tractor beam does no damage and is, in theory, probably better on cheaper ships that are giving up a less powerful shot, I could see the Defender getting a title that lets it use the tractor beam in addition to its primary like in the game.

I'm not sure what to be more exited about: My two favorite Imperial ships gettin' some lovin', or the fact this means there's now a 'Rebel Veterans' screaming to be announced, with more goodies for my T-65 and E-wing.

That's a LOT of things... I'd rather have them on separate cards, because even considering the Defender's inefficiency, I cannot imagine that many perks on a single card and it being free or cheap.
I'm also curious by the prospect of "eight new ship cards" and "eight veteran pilots." Based on that description, it sounds like this pack may not include any generic pilots? Or maybe just a PS5 version of the Wraith Squadron, and some sort of PS5-PS6 generic for the Bomber?

unless there are some must have upgrades or pilots for the bombers or defenders I might pass on that one, I already have 3 bombers and 3 defenders.

Especially given the Defender's biggest problem is that it's 3-4 points over-costed off the bat. Adding even more points, or in this case more slots to add more points, is not doing it any favors unless they're massive boosts for not many points.

After performing an attack during which you canceled all your dice results, you may perform a primary weapon attack against the same target.
Translation: hit with tractor/flechette/ion, attack again

So, am I the only one here who is more excited about the potential bomber fix than the defender fix. the bomber has needed love for a long time. I'm hoping they will finally make this a viable ordnance carrier.....

This expansion will make the 2016 worlds a tournament where the only thing you see are Tie Defenders vs Tie Bombers. There will be zero Rebel or Scum ships seen in the top 64.
On a more serious note... Unless there's some truly killer upgrades I think I'll pass. Not a huge fan of either ship. But given FFG's track record I'll end up buying 2.

So I have to admit. I saw this topic and thought it was just another semi-lame "What would you guys think if they put the Tie Defender in an aces expansion and put in my homebrewed fix?"... So I ignored it... Until I noticed how quickly it ballooned to 5 pages plus.
