We've seen both versions of the card, and we know that the art is different. The spread image shows two cards with the same art.

They're already reprinting Maarek Stele and we needed at least one new pilot ability. So we get Countess Riad. Also Maarek, if I'm not mistaken, didn't fly a TIE Advanced in the Lore, but Turr Phennir flew several ships including the interceptor.

Maarek flew basically everything in TIE Fighter, and if Skippy the Jedi Astromech is in the lore, the story of that game definitely counts.

No, but after the Missile Boat and Defender, it's not like it would be a challenge. Fel regarded him as the best Imperial pilot, I'm sure they threw him on the Advanced because there was little reason to make the Avenger.

Well for some reason (DISNEY) they made a whole other TIE Adv. Prototype. So why not the production TIE Advanced/Avenger? And don't forget they also made an even bombier Bomber, why not make a more Advancier Advanced?

Well, Darth Vader's TIE wasn't meant to be a production model until later in the EU. Like I said in a different topic, the TAP is a prototype of a prototype.

Granted I would love the Avenger, Gunboat, Missile boat, Raptor, etc. There's too much already that it's hard justifying new ships without identifying key Imperial needs.

So is Vader's TIE still the x1 in Nu Canon? Looks like Rebels is implying his is a customization of the v1.

True, but when you have SEVEN ships he flew to pick from, it's still annoying that it took them two tries to get one right.

Even a basic TIE Fighter would have been more accurate for Stele than the Advanced x1.

The Avenger is really more of an interceptier Interceptor.
