And at PS 9 and full mods for only 1 point more than a naked aggressor, you want him to be the last man standing if the game gets to that point

at PS9 he's limited to 1 action, in most cases requiring him to take FCS to make some use of his attack, has 1 flimsy shield, white dial (it's not green, no-no, bleached B-wing that is!)

And no evade action.

PTL is overrated on a ship that doesn't need it (i.e, a ship that isn't a Tie fighter), the dial is excellent because you don't care about stressing yourself, and the evade is superfluous due to his ability (which triggers without need for action and triggers as many times as he's attacked)

the TLed attack lets him output far higher damage than soontir for lower maneuverability, thrusters + ability gives with higher survivability than Vader for slightly lower damage. He's balanced out for his cost somewhere between these two imperial aces

Lordy, i can't believe the advice above. The Starviper is demonstrably total cack. it dies to a stiff breeze in a joust and doesn't have the elite slots and/or pilot skill to be a true flanker. the only reason to buy it is for the Autothrusters.
