This was my second tournament in X-wing but my first in Germany. The shop owners and other players were very kind and translated everything into English for me. I was a little disappointed that their winter kit did not arrive but I think that is a world wide problem. It sure was fun to see the different squads everyone brought. 13 players showed up.

My first opponent was very good. He had 2 B-wings, 1 Z95, and Etahn A'baht with R2D2 and draw their fire. We both agreed his opening was not very good. I'm not sure what he was trying to do but by turn two all of his ships were pointing the wrong direction and his Z95 landed on a rock. By turn three he got it mostly straitened out. I tried to take out his bwing but Etahn was taking some of the hits. The next turn he got one of my B's to land on a rock and more damage was exchanged. He miss anticipated my moves a couple times and it cost him Etahn who took too much damage from his team mates from draw their fire. I switched targets and took down Etahn and a b-wing down in one turn. I cleaned up after that. The points don't reflect how intense this game was and my opponent was a really cool guy.
100 - 24 for me.
The next was a Scum build that had Guri with SD, predator, 2 Z95's and Talonbane Cobra with SD and hot shot blaster. This was a pretty quick match. I took the Z's quickly and knocked SD from Guri on the first volley. Talon attempted a 5 Kturn that I didn't know he could do but he couldn't make it by a hair. Otherwise I would have been in trouble. The remainder of the game was Tarn constantly on Cobra's tail and my B's taking 4 turns to destroy a 1 hull Guri. Her ability was triggered everyturn which was cool to see.

The next game my opponent had Miranda with TLT's and two K-wimgs with TLT's and stress crew. This guy tabled me. He flew very well and my squad crumbled under the TLT's. I think out of my five ship list I fired 4-5 times. If I got him in arch he would just SLAM out. Unfortunately I think they recorded this though I hope no one see's it.

My last game was Whisper with VI and ACD, Redline with a few missiles and FCS, and a tie advanced with targeting computer. We met in the asteroids and he approached me from three different directions. I think I played well but I can honestly say my dice lost most of the game for me. The entire four games I played I rolled 8 evades...that's not very many. His punisher rolled 7-8 evades alone in this game. My attack dice were not working for me even with FCS and range 1 shots.

Great games and great people. I cant wait to take my new list in January along with all of the lessons I learned from this tournament. My goals for the tournament were met because I wanted to win at least half my games and have Tarn's ability used once a game. His ability plus an extra hull (his cost was 28 points) came in handy several times. Now with IA I get the same punch for 25 points rather than 28!
