Does this chain work?

By droz69, in Star Wars: Armada

Assault Proton Torpedos, XX-9 Turbolasers, Dodonna commander.

Bring Torpedo frigate in to range 1. File side salvo of 3 blacks and 2 blues.

Black Dice: Crit/Hit, Hit, Hit

Blue Dice: Accuracy, Hit

The crit triggers assault torpedoes and xx-9 Turbolasers? Am I seeing this correctly? If so, I would look at the top 4 cards, place the one I want on top, he pulls that one, then I pull the next 4, place the one I want, he pulls that one. Am I resolving this correctly, or would I need two crits for that to take effect?

You can only choose 1 critical effect per attack.

So redundant then. Gotcha. Brutal otherwise.

You get to choose one or the other which can depend on what damage you think will get through

Also the before keyword will limit Dadoona to one instance of his effect.

P5 "A before effect occurs immediately before the specified event and cannot occur again for that instance of the event."

No. Each separate face up damage card is a separate instance of that event. He applies to every single face up card dealt to his enemy's ships.

"Before an enemy ship is dealt a faceup damage card, look at the top 4 cards of the damage deck, place 1 on top of the deck and discard the others."

Just to make sure, you are looking at the top 4 damage cards, selecting the one you want to give you opponent, and then discarding the rest, right?

Hadn't thought if it that way because the card is just a single effect, but there are two instances of being delt a face up card.

Good call, thanks for the correction.

I think it only matters for XX-9, not often taken crit effect.
