Didn't quite know where to put this one. Looking for some feedback on this lesser issue.
As much as I love the game one of the things that bugs me about it is that much of the map doesn't seem to be used. We tend to get stuck in the repetitive approach-joust-k turn-joust-k turn-joust cycle. I like large maps and to use a lot of space. Heck, just flying around is fun as hell but I find I don't actually get to do much of it, sadly.
With the introduction of the larger ship, however, my buddy and I have found that it adds a whole new dynamic to the game, both in flying and on offense. With Dash Rendar, for example, with his 360 heavy laser cannon firing arc and equipped with an engine upgrade, this ship zooms and boosts all over the darned place and the imperials chase him everywhere. For the first time (I've only played about 25 games) we found ourselves zinging all over all four borders and it was a hoot. It felt like we finally got to really fly the ships around. I'm guessing this is just one of the perhaps unknown benefits of including larger ships in the game. It really adds a new flavor and dimension. We are now looking forward to including the Decimator and will probably use a larger ship every game.
Thoughts?
