*PSA* avoid posting Episode VII spoilers

By Norgrath, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Later this week Episode VII will be in cinemas; this has the potential to revitalize Star Wars (or not, but that's not the issue here). It'd be a shame if someone carelessly posted spoilers and ruined that for someone (not everyone will be able or willing to watch it at midnight (I'm sure some people are thinking it but I'm not talking about me, I will be watching the first showing)).

My plea is that, for some time after the release, everyone marks everything related to it with spoiler tags like these:

Darth Vader is Luke's father

The option is in the bar above the text window, to the left of the font selection, it's one of the "Special BBCode" options (condescension over).

Also for those that don't know the code is:

*[*spoiler*]* I'm a little tea pot *[*/spoiler*]*

I'm a little tea pot

Remove the *'s

I have gone the whole summer not seeing a single trailer or any information about the movie besides the fact that some of the old cast is in it. I am super excited to see this not knowing a thing about it. I even plan on watching the movies this week in machete order (IV,V,II, III, VI) through out the week to avoid seeing trailers on commercials.

I agree with the Machete order.

Double agree with Machete Order. It really emphasizes the conflict in Luke at the beginning of ROTJ.

Same here! No trailers, TV sports or cast interviews!

Going in blind!

Hopefully this forum is a safe haven... (can't trust the X-wing one  )

Yes, it also gives some value to the oft-scorned NT.

In reference to the Machete Order, does Episode I really have nothing relevant in it? I've seen all 6 films, the OT multiple times but the prequels only once when they came out. I've actually just rewatched IV and V again so I'm in the position where I should now go to II. For me II is the worst of the lot, so while I can understand that it's more about juvenile/young adult Anakin and the beginning of the end for him, jumping straight into the story of a love affair between two emotionless homunculi isn't exactly all that tempting.

Episode 1 adds absolutely nothing to the overall narrative. It is a self contained story that happens to have character used in the next film. As far as the love affair between Hayden Christianbot and Natalie Portdroid, Episode 1 adds nothing to that... Except a strong creepy pedo-vibe by emphasizing their substantial age differences.

It had been so long since a real star wars film had come out, Lucas hedged his bets by having the first one self contained. That way if it tanked he wouldn't have to make any more.

Skip the awkward Anakin stuff. I love Obi Wan in 2 and 3. The fight in the rain between him and Jango Fett is sweet.

Rumors.

I suspect it is more likely that with the reception that Phantom Menace got he moved away from it more with the later ones, which just happened to result in a story which relied less on anything that happened in Episode 1. I doubt it was intended that way in the beginning. Certainly, I don't think Phantom Menace works on it's own, as it is clearly meant to set up various things about Anakin. It doesn't make an understandable story if you just tacked it onto the original films without anything in between. However, as said, the second and third prequel do provide significant things to the plot, while almost entirely not relying on knowing anything from the first prequel.

I just Saw it last night. that is all im going to say

*BUMP*

But, Episode I has Duel of the Fates, and Darth Maul...I mean, at least listen to that, because John Williams...and watch the lightsaber fight to see Obi.
