In no way prepared for the Tournament Tomorrow

By Cuthawolf, in Star Wars: Armada

So we're having our 'Winter' *eyes wonky weather* tournament tomorrow in celebration of the upcoming StarWars 7...and I am in no way prepared. I still havn't learned how to properly fly an MC80 since October, I've only gotten two or three games in with the MC30 and I have no idea how to build a solid list.

HELP ME!

The closest I have is this:

AF2B w ECM

CR90 A w Projection Experts

MC80 Command Cruiser w Engine Techs, ECM, Booster Comms and General Dododonna

B-Wing x4

A-Wing x2

Tycho Celchu

YT-2400 x2

The CR90 stays behind and protects the other two with Projection Experts, A-Wing and YT's run squadron defense and B-Wings ideally maul enemy ships. Will this work? What would you do?

As a fellow player my urge is to help you, as an Imperial my urge is to sabotage you, and realistically I have no experience with rebel ships.

WITH THAT IN MIND.

This appears 'functionally' similar to my Assault Survey [iSD|R|R|FIREBALL], so what I recommend is Having the CR90 or the AF harass the enemy and open holes for your bombers to maul via MC80 commands. Honestly though, if you doubt your capability to fly the Cigar, leave it and replace it with something you're more comfortable running. Self doubt will undermine the rest of your strategy faster than a Phyrexian Compleation.

The key to B-Wings is to lead your targets. If you really want maximum effectiveness with those slow fighters, you need to set up situations where the opponent needs to plow through your fighter cloud to accomplish anything (think Contested Outpost). In that case, drop the A-Wings/Tycho, they aren't doing you any favors. Switch to X-Wings so they can escort your B-Wings. Use the points gained from dropping Tycho to an X-Wing to swap out the CR90 for a Escort Neb + Yavaris. Double tap Yavaris B-Wings can make any ship-heavy list cry.

The key is not to be aggressive - let your opponent come to you.

Some other things to think about

- Picking up a HWK for Intel

- Gunnery teams on the AFII

If you've ben playing MC30s then keep taking them.

You can't go wrong with Ackbar or Mon Mothma.

Add the titles and defensive crew and ADVANCED PROJECTORS (Admonition) or ECM (Foresight).

Ordnance experts + Assault Proton Torps

Nav team with Home One title.

Add some Bs or Awings.

Oh you should really practice a game at home against yourself.

Just let the force guide you.
