Only just got my wave 2 stuff and I'm yet to get a game but I noticed lists of lists seem to. E including these guys and a local tourney was just won by a rebel player toting them as well. Are they the new b-wing in people's opinions? Or just enjoying 15 seconds of fame?
Peoples thoughts on rebel scuurg bombers?
I have not tried the regular Scuugs yet. I like Nym but he does not activate often.
I think the 2400 is better. As for Nym his ability see,s broken, but it's really over costed and has low odds of actually going off.
I don't know, I had it go off 4 times in a row last game I used him.
They're definitely an interesting squadron. 16 points seems like a lot to invest in a squadron that doesn't have Rogue (I think it's the only non-unique squadron that's 16+ points and not Rogue), and I'm not sure it's extra 1 hull, 1 speed, and Grit is worth 2 points more than a B-wing (with its extra anti-squadron die and lack of Heavy). But if your fleet depends on mobility and can't wait around for 2-speed B-wings, they seem more appropriate.

He definitely seems to be streaky. When he goes off, he's great. But he didn't go off at all my last game, so that was kind of sad. ![]()
I look at the Scurg less like a B-Wing upgrade and more like a Y-Wing upgrade, but even when being clearly superior to the Y in every way, the point cost deters me.

Yeah, I usually just run the Y-Wings and if I have the extra points I upgrade one to the Scurg (maybe two).
People are using Y-wings? Well cool what are people usually running with Y Wimgs these days?
Im sorry I didn't think anyone payed Y-wings any mind lately with all the new toys available these days.
the scurrg were awesome imo. that 3 speed is much more reasonable. they have grit. and 2 bomber dice. pretty bashing.
If you wished your B-wings flew further to hit targets and not bother with enemy fighters, H-6s can work.
I like B-Wings better, because I like trapping and killing fighters along with blasting the shields off warships.
my buddy just used a couple of these mixed in with B-Wings and 2 MC80s, He managed to use them quite effectively in tandem with the B-wings and that MC80 title that lets all them buggers move at 4.
Parking them in a central asteroid to avoid getting engaged and then having the range to get to and hit passing ships when activated with boosted comms. I can say there were a couple of clutch situations where the Scurg got to a target ship where the b-wings could not, but the Bwings did well tying up fighters I stupidly let stray out of Dengars aura of awesome.
I agree that Nym is a little expensive for an ability that triggers fairly erratically. Especially when you compare to Boba Fett...
i think they are a playstyle choice, i do aggressive bombing alot and in wave 2 i felt you need more ywings to make them worth it which can strain your carrier into needing a backup one.
i tried Bwings but they were just too slow for what i wanted them to bomb but i know they fit some people fleet style
after trying a number of things i went to give scurrgs a go at a tournament a few days ago, they went HAM and melted 4 assault frigates, 1.5 MC80's and 80% of an ISD all on their own, that extra speed with my new favorite upgrade of boosted comms is exactly what i needed for my play style in wave 2 where ywings just werent doing enough dmg for me. i won that tournement
Edited by TerrorScreamFor two point you get speed extra dice and an extra hull. How many times has a squadron got down to one...seems go to me. B-wings are just so slow, but if you're running slows ships well then. We have chooses which is great. Got two points left in your list you can now find some squadron to upgrade which is my favorite part.
I think my next Rebel list will have 2 escorted by 2 X Wings. Should they survive, that's a lot of bombers making a run. I like it. It's really an upgraded Y Wing IMO.
