Someday FFG might sell SINGLE cards, if the players requested it enough... but that's a few years away IMO.
Until then, there's eBay.

The cost and hassle of selling single cards is way, way too much for what a reasonable price would be. Not to mention, I'm sure stores will absolutely "thrilled" with 2 to 3 times more SKUs.

This would be ideal and, having picked up the TIE Advanced fix on eBay way before I caved and bought a Raider, the secondary market is a perfectly valid solution. I read on these forums that Team Covenant does this on their site, but haven't checked it out.

Personally, with the Gozanti reviving interest in Epic, I'm kind of glad I got the Transport and Raider. Now I just have to wait to open my Corvette that is under the tree.
Then here is a challenge, try playing X-wing with none of the miniatures. Heck try playing X-wing with only the cards. No dials no dice nothing. Turns out you can't play X-wing wiht only cards.Yep. It's a miniatures game where none of the miniatures effect the gameplay in any way, but all the cards do.
Let me say this again for the hundredth time.
X-WING IS NOT A CARD GAME, IT IS A MINIATURES GAME!!!!!!!!!
That is all.
There no one that I've read that is saying it is a card game but, it is a mini game played with cards just try playing without them.
Over and Out. (BTW in the US military no one ever says that only in the movies because it is either over or out not both)
Further more I can prove that you can play X-wing without the cards. Ever heard of squad builder? Yup, just print out a sheet of your list like you would with Warmachines/hordes or Warhammer and you can still play a game of X-wing without any pilot or upgrade cards!
There, your entire argument has been thoroughly invalidated and debunked , and I can still go on about the business model design and so on to prove that X-wing is not a card game and card only expansions are unnecessary and a hindrance.
Now If you want to play a Star Wars themed card game based upon the Star Wars franchise FFG makes a fine one you can find here . They also have another non-collectible card game if you don't want to sink the money into the LCG format which you can find here . If you want card games about star wars please check of there first.
No, I never use squad builder never played Warmachines or Warhammer. I might be old but my vision is very good why are you using bold and underline is that like yelling? Why would I play card games when miniatures are so much fun? Simply, the game is greatly enhanced by cards. Newer players and those with limited income perhaps would benefit from nonrandom card packs. I do not see why you are against that idea.
Edited by BlackSunSynSince peanutbutter only comes in that one sandwich, you don't know what you're missing. You can proxy peanutbutter (it tastes like chicken) outside of official eating competitions, or borrow it out of someone elses peanutbutter and ****sandwich, but that means you want your friend to buy the peanutbutter and **** sandwich so you can take from them what you won't buy yourself.
No, the whole point is I DON'T like FFG's system, which is selling me the peanutbutter and **** sandwich. Which means I don't want to do ANY of that. I just want them to sell me the goddamn peanutbutter.

You absolutely CAN play X-Wing with none of the miniatures. You can't play it without the cards.
Magic: TG also requires tokens to play, that doesn't make it not a card game.

You need the miniatures...in tournament play. You need the bases with with tokens and templates and the dials to fly them around for an actual game. It's a board game. Not a card game. FFG makes plenty of games just like it. Try playing Arkahm with just the cards...nope you need the tokens and the board (now Arkahm is much more a card game than x-wing but it's still a board game) Think of it as backgammon with a deck of cards thrown in to 'customize' the game...it's not about playing different cards against other cards in the game, it's about moving the pieces on the board.
SWCCG again is the THE card game. The cards are the board, the pieces, the currency, everything! What is this MTG you keep talking about?
Buying expansions that contain models you do not want is pretty much a tournament tax that has to be paid if you can't play with proxies.
Paying it will deter some people but if you look at the amount of autothrusters compared to starvipers in lists I doubt FFG will be changing the way they package things any time soon.
Random booster packs is obviously a terrible idea for this game.
However, it seems like it'd be a great idea to have a set card pack for each faction to help new players get their upgrade cards up to game. Have some autothrusters, mindlink, vet instints, or engine upgrades - basically cards where you usually use multiple in a single build, yet some players are usually short on. Then have a unique crew card or ship title, something like that, charge 10 bucks to get about 12 cards seems within their pricing model.
