Wow the expansions keep coming and this recent wave is the best yet!

However, is anyone feeling overwhelmed with the options?

I skipped Scum and the Huge base ships, and I have not purchased a few of the recent releases. I am buying this wave though. I may go back and buy the huge bases.

I can understand a few of the fanatics (you guys-respects to you people) buying everything but even after awhile one has to get full. I think I am getting saturated with the ships. My inventory now exceeds the Epic scale of any possible 400 point list and I have to update my signature lists(lol). I could probably field an Epic 1000 point list for both sides.

Just a thought, not trolling. And I have no idea what the next waves could bring.

I can see it being a lot if you actually buy 100+ points of every ship, but for someone like me who only gets 1-2 of each expansion, it's not really that bad. Still 2 case layers to fill~

I cannot even afford to read all the cards any more, lol. The is not a complaint but wow! This is huge.

I used to buy three of everything small, and one or two of the large. Now it's probably two of the small unless there's something I can't live without, and generally only one of the large.

Those of us that have been around since the start.. well, I feel your pain. There's been times of massive updates and announcements, and then voids of anything for the longest time. Of course, there was the labour action by the longshoreman's union that also led to a huge slowdown on product delivery, but that was another issue.

Buy what you're comfortable with, and look at the squad builder sites. They'll give you an idea of what you want (or need!), and then consider if it'd be a worthwhile purchase for yourself.

It is a bit overwhelming. I started almost a year ago, bought all the expansions, and at times I'm completely flummoxed. There's some upgrades that I haven't tried yet. Heck, there's some ships I don't think I flew even once! Like EmpireErik said above it's not a complaint, just a statement of fact. There are good pilot/card combos and better combos and trying to piece together the right combo is somewhat mind bending.

I joined the fanaticism in wave three or four. AndI am still impressed with the game. Funny thing is I am on my third or fourth and I expect fifth expansion in carry cases.

Like Stoneface said.... I have (a lot of) ships I have never flown. Lol. But it's a great game, wow, what a game.

I've been around since W2. At first, I was buying 100 points of everything. But that led me to have 7 X wings, 9 TIE Fighters (which would soon be 11!), 5 B wings, 7 A wings, etc. So around wave 5, I decided to sell off half of my collection, which actually went for pretty much exactly what I paid for it (go go global economy!). This brought me down to 4 X wings (still more than I want really), 4 Y wings, 3 A wings (and then I bought another to mod) , 2 B wings (and then I bought another to paint), 1 YT-1300, 1 YT-2400, etc.

And my buying strategy has drastically changed. W5 saw me buy one of each. W6 I bought one of each, and 2 scyks, W7 I bought one K wing, Punisher, and Hound's Tooth while only picking up 2 Kihraxz. W8 I'm going to pick up 1 T-70, 1 TIE/fo, 1 Gozanti, 1 Ghost (though I really want a second Phantom), 1 Punishing One, and 1-2 of the TIE/proto and Mist Hunter... Depending on if I feel a second would be a "logical" thing to run in a list.

That said, I AM running out of space in my toolbox for all of these ships. I might start leaving my Imperial ships at home and just bringing rebel and scum. But then I would have to find a place to store/display my imp stuff, which sounds more difficult than just bringing it with me.

I'm going light on wave 8 until I pay off my Dodge Avenger. I have 100 point sets of pretty much everything so I'll be good for a while.

Well when you have an Imperial Huge ship, a Rebel quasi-huge ship, two scum and another empire TIE plus TFA expansions for two other factions, and all this just a few months after two other scum ships plus empire and rebel 'medium' ships and a new core set with TFA goodness...yeah this is crazy.

And I didn't even talk about the dial covers and tinted bases!

I see our total is currently 99 ships! I plan on getting three Gozantis, which also means 6 more Ties! A Tie FO and T70 single plus Ghost/Phantom, and the rest of wave 8 means 7+ more ships just on the unreleased ships! My son just asked for 2-3 more Transports for Epic!!!

Its more like an addiction, we must keep collecting!

100 points... pshaw! I'm still building out for Epic needs! Bring on more new cores! The hardest aspect for me is sticking to my set budget every month, but I've been good on it for a while and see no signs of stopping. This was a positive benefit to me cancelling a lot of subscription services and looking at getting rid of subscription TV (still keeping the internet but saying goodbye to the rest). I'm not dumping THAT much into my X-Wing, but I can easily spend $50 on my entertainment budget on X-Wing a month and not miss the other stuff (and still save nearly $200 per month on where I was last year).

If things go the way I want, I'm going to have to use some of that for travel so I can get out to some tournaments. The drawback of where I live is no game store. The positive is I am about equidistant from Dallas, Houston and Austin (ok, so Austin is a bit further, but it's not that much further).
