Upgrade cards that caused confusion

By Jondavies72, in Star Wars: Armada

Are there any cards that you have had to really think about how it plays or had discusions over how it actually plays ?

I had a bit of debate with another player over salvation (not during a game but in a general discussion) and if you still got a face up damage card because the Crits count as two damage. In my view you would still get a face up damage card as salvation is not triggered by a crit affect and therefore the fact you have a crit icon will allow you to trigger a face up damage card.

The other cards we had to think around were the cards with crit activations in which the crit effect was damage or dealt cards ( APT and ACM etc) we all agreed that as activating a crit effect did not spend a dice, the crit icon still caused its normal damage after the crit effect had been activated (so a black crit/hit dice activating APT would cause one face up crit and two standards damage).

Your conclusions are all correct.

There are many cards which routinely cause confusion. Chief among them is Rieekan. But there's also Ackbar, Instigator, Devastator, and even Hyperspace Assault.

Before the latest FAQ, there was also division as to the correct interaction between XI-7 and Advanced Projectors.

I never was sure about how leia works but we don't use it. I know she add some flexibility to a ship but I don't know if you must put her in the light ship to send dials to the heavy one or vice versa. And if the dial you change is used or not by the other ship. I didn't pay her much attention as long as I am an imperial player and I can't blow up alderaan again to enjoy her face.

When Leia's ship (typically a CR-90 because of command 1) activates and reveals a dial, you can change the top (i.e. next to be revealed) dial of a friendly ship to the same command. So you could use her, for example, to set an emergency Repair command on an MC80 or AFMK2.

Hmm the order not the dial. Now all have more sense. So if leia order navigate she put a navigate order in other ship and still spending her navigate command right?

She still has to use whatever she has on the dial.

I've used her once to hand my AF a critically needed repair to avoid the burning engine crit while i had no repair for 2 more turns. Bleh.

... right before the tantive itself blew up from the exact same crit. Pretty interesting to say the least.

I actually have a very specific combo of cards in mind, so bear with me.

Adar Tallon aboard the Independance: can the squad he "un-activates" attack? If so, can the effect of Yavaris work that turn?

A Squadron gets an Order from Independance, and moves 4, getting it into Range of the Enemy and of Yavaris. This squad is one of many that Independance has activated.

Adar Tallon this chooses one of those Squadrons to switch the activation slider back to the Turn's Colour.

This squad is treated as if it has not activated yet this turn, so Yavaris can most definately activate it for a double Tap.

The limiting factor of it is that Adar Tallon only works on a single squadron, not all squadrons activated.

Thanks! I was aware about it only working for one squad woth Adar's ability but I wanted to know if everything could work together with conflicting wording. :3
