Sure, but you have to have access to Boost/Barrel Roll. Technically, any ship at least has access to the former, but most of the ships on this list don't benefit from taking up more points in the list and would rather not. Without boost/roll its doable, but not as reliable obviously.
"The game is more diverse than ever"... But how diverse?
EPTs such as Crackshot and Juke make taking up more points in the list worthwhile
the BlackCrack Squadron and the Juke FO give absolutely zero **** about enemy TLTs and can tango with more difficult craft, such as Aggressors, to boot
I prefer their flexibility far more than their naked, generic counterparts
Edited by ficklegreendiceAny ship that can boost/roll/maneuver into the doughnut hole, they don't have to be named. They have to, at most, have a higher PS than 1.
You can do it with a Tempest Squadron after conceding the initiative; without issue, but it's a lot easier to do it with PS 3-4s that can reliably demolish a TLT before it can even shoot back
What I still don't understand is how are Tempest Squadrons with title/ATC not an efficient filler for Imperial squads? Is it the lack of autothrusters?
I would think a guaranteed crit every roll would be much more efficient than any 3 atk ship rolling dice.
When I saw the title/ATC spoiled I figured Tempest swarms would replace BBBBZ type lists, but I hardly ever see them. Then again, I don't see many BBBBZ anymore either....

Absolutely, but Crackshot is 1 point. I was referring to Engine Upgrades, which cost significantly more. ![]()
Oh! Yeah, EU is a mite pricey ![]()
@Vayn
For me, it's because low PS target-locks + no defensive mods = bleck
AC Tempests for life!
incredibly solid, with their only real weakness being lots of agility modifiers, which results in such silly things as Fickle's most shameful game
Edited by ficklegreendiceI find it telling that, of the list of ships not being used, most of them will gain a benifit from the guidance chimp when it comes out.

Where has that been spoiled?

It hasn't, but a lot of players are under the strong impression it will be a very heavy boost for munitions. Alex Davey has alluded in a recent interview (I can't recall which) that it will likely be enough to get munitions on the table in a competitive format even.
guidance chimp
I'm sorry I had to

From my point of view, for 24 points Ywing with tlt is more solid than Bwing with fcs.
So again a ship is displacing others, like it happened with Bwing compared to Xwing.
I think a fix is needed, kihraxz is not used as well because of his lack of boost/barrell roll, Also Ewing generic pilots are not playable, very expensive for PS1 or 3... same happens with starviper generic pilots.
I think there is need of some fixes to see all this ships in play.
A good and cheap cannon could help on M3A and Bwings while a good droid lowering point cost could help Xwing and Ewing. Maybe the Kihraxz can have a tittle to allow droid or system upgrade.
Edited by negroscuroI brought this up on the most recent NOVA podcast. TLT Y-wings are killing off "vanilla" generic ships. TLT at 6 points was unintentional mild power creep. The repercussions are significant.
What do you think TLT should have cost?

Everything seems to point to a fair cost at 7 points: MathWing, tournament results, list building.
Related, PS2/4 K-wings should be a point cheaper if the TLT was increased to 7 points, so Danger Zone with 2 PS2 K's and Miranda would sit at 100 points, up from 99 but still fits in the standard 100 point game.
