Ghost part 2 article up!

By imprezagoatee, in X-Wing

Outside of Luke, Han, and Leia (And Luke even shows up in some tournament lists in place of Gunner), I don't think the Rebels have a problem with iconic character crew cards. Chewbacca is solid, R2-D2 and C-3PO were in a Worlds winning list, and even Lando is kinda okay (Especially with a zero agility ship to work with now).

Dash, Kyle, Lando, and Jan would also like to have some words... all interesting, all decidedly more iconic (to the tune of 18+ years for each) than a characters from a fairly new childrens' show, and all are reasonably priced.

Lando certainly, he was a main character from the movies.

Dash, Kyle, and Jan? LOLnope. Unless you think iconic means "old", there's no way Jan Ors is a more iconic character than the Ghost crew.

So besides the main characters, some Rebel crew are OK. :/

I mean, C-3PO and R2-D2 are main characters.

And really, the most main arguably.

A lot of star wars is framed through their point of view

As was always the intention, George Lucas did say, way back in the early eighties that those two were the only characters who would be in all three trilogies he envisioned at the time.

more or less the point I was making

If the discontinuity of the characters available in X-Wing are an issue for anyone, I'm sure we can convince JJ to just do to Star Wars what he did with Star Trek and help reboot the whole thing...

(and yes, he was the director not the one responsible for green-lighting the screenplay and/or script, but still... we do like to blame him for it, don't we?)

He shared the blame... but then again Orci and Kurtzman... ug...

LOL actually they are the only characters that have been in all six movies and lived. Only two others (Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader) have been in all six movies but they both died at some point.

Can we please for a moment consider how utterly friggin' strange it is that The Ghost can have Luke Skywalker and Ezra Bridger on the same ship at the same time?

Y'know why that's odd?

They're the same age but in XWMG they aren't.What kind of weird-*ss parallel universe is XWMG taking place in?

You'll have to ask Miranda and Poe.

I think we should all shout timey wimey wibbley wobbelly and have done with it ;)

And if the Lucas vision of the eighties keeps true, they are also the only ones we see in the new trilogy.

I don't expect Force ghosts of either Obi-Wan or Anakin.

Only if they act to provide sarcastic colorful commentary on the situation at hand.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but the auxiliary arc is only when the phantom is docked right?

When the Phantom is docked, you may use the special arc to fire the Ghost primary weapon out of.

If the Phantom is not docked, you may only use the special arc to fire torpedoes.

Thanks brother and where did you find this tidbit? I haven't been keeping up on this ship much..

An obscure line in the article.

Although the VCX-100 features a special firing arc from which it can fire any torpedoes it equips,

I had overlooked that line in the original article. But now that I look again, you can clearly see a Torpedo symbol printed within that Auxiliary arc on the second ship token.

That makes FCS a no-brainer upgrade for this ship, though I'm not sure what torpedoes you'd actually want to run. Advanced Proton Torps with Extra Munitions? Could then also be used to fuel Sabine crew with double bombs.

Well, let's hope the Empire gets something as OP as the Ghost, but let's be honest here. FFG I believe hates the Empire, because all the most cheaty-hack things they come out with tend to be Rebel....

Counterpoint: The Rebels lead the game in terms of 2-hull ships (A-Wing, Z-95, Attack Shuttle, E-Wing; Empire has one ship with that level of vulnerability, and S&V has two), and the Empire are getting a ship that can guarentee damage straight through to hull as long as the Emperor can give him a crit. They're also getting a second ship with the Boost/Barrel roll combo and Autothrusters access. Plus, they can largely ignore stress thanks to one of their new TIE/fo aces.

Every faction is good.

I haven't looked but when you say "The rebels lead the game in terms of 2-hull ships" are you including shields in that? Shield have not chance of a critical. Sure there may be one Imperial pilot that can go through shields but that does not equal every single hit having a change at critical like most of the unshielded Imperial Ships.

Specifically hull.

The distinction matters because of a density of mechanics that don't care about shields and are able to just directly assign damage cards.

A ship can die while still having shield tokens, you only need to have a number of damage cards assigned to your ship equal to or greater than your hull value.

How quickly people forget the Phantom...

I don't think you know what a reboot is.
