Ghost part 2 article up!

Those dials are powerful....

dials.png

Holy Cow a 5 speed maneuver on a large ship. The first large ship that says EU is for noobs.

Is it just me or is there starting to be a case of dial creep?

Chopper: Just put a red wig on him and call him Mara Jade. As a crew, he's free, so basically a "Why not" option if you have a slot free.

While I'm a bit annoyed at how good the dials are for these two ships, THIS is really the thing that bugs me most about the expansion.

(...)

(...)

also, the dials are not that great. I love the options, but that's a lot of red, especially glaring on the 1 and 2 turns, which translate into a lot of weaknessses. Even Hera, which takes up an essential crew, will not remove the drawback of going actionless (unless you feel like killing yourself with chopper)

to add to it, the **** thing has Z-95 greens...on a large base. That's block ******* city right there, unless you run yourself atop an obstacle first

Considering that, while these are a **** freighter and a brick shuttle, you have a whole 17(!) maneuvres to choose from and have all(!) hard turns and a K, its not too much red. So good dials, when comparing to normal ships.

Compared to the outliers of the scale, the YT:s with their hilarious dials, they look not that good - but you have to compare to what is available for other factions.

Did anyone else notice that Kanan's ability applies to more than just him?

We may have an A-wing squad life on our hand

Yeah, people have been talking about that for the last week. Kanan is just flat-out amazing.

I'm talking ship Kanan not crew Canan

Oh, holy crap! I had missed that. Dang.

Hmm, Kanan + Garven + Kyle (HWK) only comes out to 85 points. Crow and 2x Rec.Spec.s bump it to 94...

What, no rec spec for Kyle? :P

Super excited to see Rebels finally getting interesting iconic crew at good price points. An awesome expansion.

I don't understand what you mean by finally and iconic. I thought Han Solo in the Millenium Falcon was fairly iconic and very interesting since it dominated a lot of tournaments. Also there is Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca as crew, extra guns or damage mitigation. They're fairly iconic also.

Han Solo crew has never dominated tournaments. Luke costs the same as the Emperor. Chewie is alright but not a game changer.

Hera Syndulla w/ AdvS, Dorsal Turret, RecSpec, Intel Agent, Ghost - 50 pts

Zeb w/ Phantom - 18 pts

Warden Squad w/ TLT, Recspec - 32 pts

100 pts

Kanan w/ FCS, Dorsal Turret, Recspec, Recspec, Ghost - 49 pts

Zeb w/ Phantom - 18 pts

Jake Farrell w/ ptl, VI, prockets, AT, title - 33 pts

100 pts

Chopper w/ Enhanced Scopes, Dorsal Turret, Sabine, Intel agent, extra munitions, Conner Net, APL/ion projector, Ghost - 52 pts

Zeb w/ Phantom - 18 pts

Warden w/ extra munitions, Conner net - 29 pts

99 pts

These are a couple ideas I had. Untested and probably need tweaking. But I think they do have promise. I quite like the Kanan/Jake list. I know I've used Zeb in all 3. I think the phantom is best cheap if using it with the Ghost, but you could take away points from the 3rd ship is you wanted a better shuttle.

Dash, Kyle, Lando, and Jan would also like to have some words... all interesting, all decidedly more iconic (to the tune of 18+ years for each) than a characters from a fairly new childrens' show, and all are reasonably priced.

Outside of Luke, Han, and Leia (And Luke even shows up in some tournament lists in place of Gunner), I don't think the Rebels have a problem with iconic character crew cards. Chewbacca is solid, R2-D2 and C-3PO were in a Worlds winning list, and even Lando is kinda okay (Especially with a zero agility ship to work with now).

Lando certainly, he was a main character from the movies.

Dash, Kyle, and Jan? LOLnope. Unless you think iconic means "old", there's no way Jan Ors is a more iconic character than the Ghost crew.

To the generation that played the 90s Star Wars PC/console games to death I say without hesitation that the aforementioned are far and above more iconic Star Wars characters than those from a childrens' show.

And guess where the player base and money is?

Still waiting for Xixor and Guri crew.

The Ghost's torp-specific aux arc would be perfect for the Surronian Stinger, now there's a mechanically odd ship.

Can we please for a moment consider how utterly friggin' strange it is that The Ghost can have Luke Skywalker and Ezra Bridger on the same ship at the same time?

Y'know why that's odd?

They're the same age but in XWMG they aren't.

What kind of weird-*ss parallel universe is XWMG taking place in?

Come With Me If You Want to Live

see, in xwing TMG, part5, time-travel will get so effed up they'll reboot the entire line after that. ;)

You'll have to ask Miranda and Poe.

I hadn't considered that, I was too busy flying Biggs next to an E-Wing while attacking a TIE Punisher.

I got three tie advance next to a punisher

...all painted like FOs

Continuity is for pansies

What, timeline issues in the game where Biggs can protect K-Wings and T-70 X-Wings? :P

Kanan Jarrus + Esege Tuketu + some RecSpecs for both= Up to four less attack dice a turn for your opponent.

Esege is "when another friendly ship... is attacking".

Bleh, well never mind then.

Iconic is a word that gets thrown around all too much.

My wallet has never felt safer. Thanks, FFG.

Still waiting for Xixor and Guri crew.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll come with the scum epic ship.
