1 point astromechs, which one you would like to create

By IG88E, in X-Wing

Like in the title:

For cheap integrated astromech technology, which 1 point astromechs you would like to create. Of course it has to suit to the point cost, so no underosted abilites

Some examples could be:

Veteran droid: (could enhance impact of generic ships, e.g E-wing, more competition on middle PS level)

Increase your pilot skill value by 2 (to a maximum pilot skill of 7)

R23-S4: (attenuating effect of autothrusters a bit)

When attacking this round, decrease the agility value of the defender by 1 (to a minimum of zero). If you do, decrease your attack value by one.

R7-C3:

Your attacks cannot be obstructed.

R1-D3: (small ship only)

Your ships needs two ion token for ionization

R- whatever 1pt

When declaring a target for a torpedo or missile give your ship a free action.

Yup that's a free barrel roll, boost, target lock, evade, or focus depending on your action bar or action based ept.

It's a free action based on the amount of torpedoes or missiles you use.

Anything that gives a ship repeatable free actions will assuredly cost more than one point. One point Astromechs are going to be low-impact, and if we expect anything on the level of Fire Control System we will inevitably be disappointed.

I could see something that gives very limited dice modification to missile and torpedo attacks being only 1 point though. Something like, "When you perform an attack with a missile or torpedo secondary weapon, you may change one focus result to a hit result."

Technically it does cost more then 1pt since you are not going to get any free actions unless you spend a lot more points on torpedoes or missiles. Furthermore your atk is effected because your either a) modifying your ordinance or placing an Unmodified atk but using a movement action. Finally it's a limited use ability based on the amount of ordinance you use.

So in other words it is not a 1pt free action because you need to spend more a lot of points to use it.

Perspective... The cheapest build that can use this card is a gold ywing, plus this Astro and a 2 pt Fletch torpedo (add in extra munitions if you want) however ur actions are limited to target lock and focus. It's honestly not that great except it makes those fletch torpedoes ok after u spend its target lock so you can get a focus with it. Your still spending 5 points to make those 2 torpedoes useful.

Honestly the only good builds off this droid that make more use out of it than just torpedo/missle action economy is generic ewings or t70 xwings who won't use a defensive droid instead. This droid is basically useless for corran or Poe.

It's kinda cute on Dutch or garven however niether are great.

I know a 1pt droid that gives a free action when you declare a target while using a torpedo/missile sounds powerful. But take a quick look at what is needed and what combinations are possible and you'll see it is not that great except for making a handful of rebel generic ships decent at using ordinance.

Training Astromech

1 point

After performing a White or Green maneuver, you may assign yourself a Focus token. You may not equip this card if your Pilot Skill is 4 or higher.
