Thanks, took a fair few hours over the course of several weekends (when I had the time), but pretty happy with how it turned out.
Some asteroid mounted turbolasers and a small shipyard are next at some point.

I've got very very little to say in regards to improvement Cyborgninja, those ships are fantastic! The squadrons in particular are just superb, I'm jealous of those B-wings.
Lets see, for most of the lights, I guess OSL can be fun. Yellow tends to be a tad harder as I've found orange is a better light hue as it's a little more distinct. Adding a drop of ink or GW glaze on the window, then redotting the window can give you some pretty good results. Aside from that it's just the usual: maybe sharpie the base rims given that you've got the great activation sliders! Make it feel all complete and polished. That fleet really deserves it. MC30 is going to have me staring for a while as I've got one of my own that needs working up, and no inspiration in me' head.
Those engines are looking right proper BMcdonald. I do like Avenger's hull colour the best, though it's like a pie contest: it's not choosing between good and bad, it's picking delicious from also delicious.
I can't say I use any special tools for squadrons. Really it's just counter painting it (paint one line, go back to the underlying colour, and paint that next to it. It sharpens the lines up a lot). Masking tape never gives me the result I want with hand brushing. Like Dras, I save that for ships and I use an airbrush (and some foam with a masking solution to make things look a little chipped.
DUR, I may have to give those Imperial cogs a go some time. If I can figure out how to make decals work on a laserjet, or attempt to murder someone elses printer.
Arcanis mate, any advice on that front? Recommendations or the like?
Yep Brobafett, as Drass said, Testors and purity seal work fairly well. I tend to use Valljeo matte for squadrons in small numbers just because it's less wasteful. That stuff is priiiiicy and I go through tons of it. I know I should gloss coast stuff for decals, but I tend to just keep them under for a full minute, then use micro-sol and micro-set on them a few times. It works for me.
Hmmm, the Ton Falk is a neat ship JPersons, but have you thought about using a thinned paint and lining the cracks with a slightly darker grey? (not too much, certainly not black) It might bring out the definition without relying on surface texture to help or hinder a full wash. Defend the large mouth bass, I still have good memories of the Tropsobor.
54NCH32, I adore that station. May very well have to make one like it, or the TIE fighter factories. It looks fantastic and certainly elaborate for a station. The turbolaser towers were a great touch. Do you find it's top heavy?
It would be great to see a finished picture of that YT1300 transport variety FoaS.
Ahah, a VSD-I! Salted Diamond, that warmed the cockles of my verminous heart. Good on ya for it. What did you end up using as a gap filler? I swear your rebel fleet is almost identical to mine in composition 
Well, I've been working on a few things. I need to get back to Ceknell real quick, but I have been doing some Armada based work. Apologies for the photos ahead of time, my good camera got some water in the lens from the downpour's we've been getting and there's some condensation beading up on it. While I'm waiting for that to clear I'm stuck using my older back up.
I think this makes ISD #5 I've worked on. Nope, still not tired of doing these things. I am tempted to make some more markings on this'n and I need to find a sigil, touch up the outer 'rims', and do some detailing on the bottom.

Wow, and you had time to paint silhouettes of all of them on your desktop too?!? Impressive!

The lighting and that light desktop is washing out all the color from your picture. Try it in front of dark background, a play mat works great if you have one.

The Flash didn't Fire on half of the pictures, so yes, they got darkened out... AND there's some serious fudging on the lens it looks like...
I don't have a Play Mat, because I don't get to play at home. A Toddler does that.
But hey, its more an indication of "How much" I get done, rather than exactly what I get done, as generally speaking - I'm batch commission painting, it all looks the same 
I DID have a Lightbox (as you can see from some of my pictures earlier on my Facebook page).... But again. It got toddler'd...

You know, my light box is usually just that white posterboard stuff propped up by a waterbottle back and angled for the light in the kitchen after I found the right exposure. It works well enough for the most part and I'm just too lazy to make a proper one.
I'd made a 3-sided open topped Foamcore box.
Unfortunately, we let the kiddo play with the rest of the foamcore when we were done...
... Which led him to believe that all foamcore is good to play with... And he'd climbed up on my old desk and trashed it.

But that's almost a second commission done.... Although this one does have a pile of Rebels as a secondary measure (The Imperials were the rush job)...
And the actual Link... Still some to do... laser blaster points, and the R&Vs need Washing and Detailing...
And TIE Wingroots. Can't forget those.

Just went through by 40K bits box and founf parts. IG mortor tubes and a light/sensor from a building kit were the big pieces.
And as for similar rebel fleet, do you have one of these?

Thanks Vykes. Was really happy how it turned out, a very rewarding build. I saw a few XQ-platform style models floating about, so wanted to make something original (while also making it easy to build out of simple layers). Well as most of its construction is balsa wood, its actually really light, so no top heavy problems (that makeshift stand its on in those photos, is merely lightly wedged in until I make a properly secured base for it).

Outstanding. I love the red edge highlights. Did he airbrush the ISD for that pale-white effect? It looks great!
