I love alot of the work done here. A few questions though...

1) Where are folks getting the models for vessels and fighters outside the Wave 1 and 2 packs? Are they custom? 3D printed?

2) Is there a "how to" thread on what is needed and what techniques are needed to get to work custom painting my own pieces?

I have some ideas that I think this community would appreciate.

Scratch and green stuff, shes very solid. Aluminum pip for the engines.

Sure thing Norsehound. I did take a few pictures when it was a little bit better lighting, so apologies for another set of essentially the same thing. It does have a little bit better perspective.

I'm not quite sure what to make of the Victory's wings, because I think i recall them being for atmospheric flight, but I aso saw them as missile tubes. I don't think I recall them as hangars. That sid, I can never recall if that split-wing version was just in the 98 version, or the 95 Collector's edition that I played (thus sorta am most familiar with. I swear they were closed in that one).

The first place I remember seeing a VSD's wings closed was Star Wars Rebellion. In TIE Fighter (all versions) they were open -including XvT and X-Wing Alliance. I'd LOVE to do an open-wing VSD, but my modelling and painting skills are -in a word- crap. So I don't think that's going to happen. Either way they were supposedly variable geometry for atmospheric flight, so either "mode" works.

I like the 2-engine mod, though IIRC they were a little further apart. That's actually something I might try on a VSD model, assuming I can figure out how to fill the gap that's left.

After Exceptional service to the Empire in recent months a Gladiator Class Star Destroyer that is named for the Kuat word for"destroy" was commissioned to be repainted. The Emperor decided to allow this use of Imperial funds as he wishes to exploit the Fear caused by this ship and its Excellent crew amongst the ranks of the rebellion.

It has just left the hands of the Company commissioned to paint it (dras) and it is on route to the front-lines as we speak where it will Continue to serve the Empire

Ladies and Gentleman I persent to you the Clonisher

As most of you know by now Clonisher is known for utterly annihilating any ship that dares to oppose the empire using 3 salvos of heavy missiles and turbo lasers. The markings are representative of the unique tactics used by Clonisher with the long stripes down its starboard hull symbolizing the extreme range the missile can reach and the exceptional speed of the ship itself as it is know for chasing down and crushing nimble block-aid runners to insignificant to dedicate a full Imperial Class. The red "fang" at the bow represents the fierce forward firepower and the 3 markings together remind all who oppose them they are 3 salvos away from utter destruction. Clonisher proudly bears its Colors, the symbol of the Empire, on its port side to remind its Victims, the Followers of Chaos, that Order will prevail!

Thanks to Dras for being very easy to work with especially considering my limited budget.

Yeah...so I finished the assault frigate MK 1.

I don't know how to feel about this, I mean I stripped it twice...redid it sanded it down, tried to bring out every detail...but this model just feels luck luster to me. I'm somewhat pleased but not really....I dunno how to feel about it.

Maybe I'll add another color to bring it out, haven't decided. Hoping for an offical FFG version though.

It was an interesting Breakaway from my usual paints for me... We'd planned out how it would go, but I was back-footed by the Vassal depiction of the Gladiator being a little different to the Real Model in one important (for us) way...

BUT! I made it happen, and work...

~4 hours work in total, but that's because I went overboard in a Base-Wash-Highlight-Glaze-Edge for all of that Red

Finished the Falcon on Saturday, just haven't got round to uploading the pictures to photobucket. I'm still working on the CR90, but I thought I'd have a go at something else in between.

What I've been working on: I would settle on a look that involves two different base coats!

Just add some windows too the darker hull and you will get your added contrast and color.
