Preparing For First Wave 2 Battle And Have Been Tinkering With This List

Any comments welcome

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points: 399/400

Commander: Admiral Ackbar

Assault Objective: Advanced Gunnery
Defense Objective: Fleet Ambush
Navigation Objective: Intel Sweep

MC80 Command Cruiser (106 points)
- Home One ( 7 points)
- Raymus Antilles ( 7 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- XI7 Turbolasers ( 6 points)

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Projection Experts ( 6 points)

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Admiral Ackbar ( 38 points)
- Jainas Light ( 2 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)

MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Enhanced Armament ( 10 points)

4 A-Wing Squadrons ( 44 points)

Fleet created with Armada Warlords

Looks good but projection experts on the CR-90 is a waste. It cant keep up with the shield loss due to its poor engineering. If you have a second TRC, put that on the CR-90. They are broken with Ackbar.

Fair enough

Was thinking along the line of a mini medic standing off out of range and throwing shields to the MC80.....but you make a valid point. I do have another TRC so can always fit it in.

There is ano..ther re...route cir....cuittt (sorry couldn't help myself)

List revised to include TRC on Corvette

Thoughts anyone?

I'm tweeking a very similar list. The difference in our lists is that I'm running 2 MC30's instead of 1 and 2 corvettes, but I am slowly leaning that way. 4 ship activation seems to be the sweet spot in wave 2. Also, EH is expensive, and you could change it out for ordnance expert and APT on the MC30 to give some close up punch. Please let us know how this runs for you.

Thanks for the comments. Will let you know how it runs. Unfortunately only having the game after Christmas....booooo

The reasoning behind EA is that it adds the red die and therefore with Ackbar gives it 3 red total at long range. Not sure if this is a good way to go but thought I would try it out.

If it were me, I'd swap out Gunnery Teams for Ordnance Experts on the MC30. If you're going with the torpedo frigate, you really want to be up close hitting hard so you're getting all those dice you're paying for, and OE gives amazing returns on those blacks.

If you're after a long range GT platform, you'd get better bang for your buck out of a Scout or an AF2B.

Move Ackbar to the MC80C, then..

MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Enhanced Armament ( 10 points)

Change this to OE + APT and bank the rest as a bid to go first. MC30cs really want to go first so they can drop their load and speed away.

GIGGITY

I'm more conservative with mine. I wait for my Enemy to come into Range, so I can Shoot and Scoot then. Its a matter of perspective and of where else the pressure is on in the game.

Man, I love this ship. They really can be played effectively either aggressively or conservatively.

Regardless of your style, though, with a 7-point upgrade all over the place that hard-counters the ship and enables basically anything with a turbolaser slot to one-shot it, going first is a really big deal right now if you're leaning on torpedo frigates.

I like TRC on mine, but mostly because of my traumatizingly-bad experiences with reds. In this list, without doing anything else, the bid is more important than the TRC.

I would drop the XI7 on Home One to make space for TRC on the shrimp, but that's a personal preference thing really.

Well that just isn't true at all. You can only transfer 2 a turn. Your aren't going to need it till turn 3 typically. That gives you 3 turns of 2 shields, which is the max of the upgrade. Now sure, that will leave you with a naked CR90, but if you keep it behind and a little back of the MC80 it shouldn't take much fire. Anything that will be big enough to one shot it is a win for you as it isn't hitting the MC80 and anything smaller won't get the kill in one go. Allowing you to respond with whatever might be appropriate. You could also stick Jaina's Light on it so its own batteries aren't obscured by said MC80.

Has worked pretty well for me at least.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

What I've taken out of this is either go torp frig with OE and APT or scout frig with TRC.

Also the mini medic projection idea can be viable. Will have to try out a few of these options.

Also this ship wants to be going first...especially the torp frig.
