Tie f/o and the 7 tie swarm.

By Sixter, in X-Wing

I've been looking at the mid-price x1s for juke for a while, and this is the best list I've come up with to really lean on my opponent's focus supply...

'Losing Focus'

Zertik, x1, AC, mkII, juke

Alozen, x1, AC, mkII, juke

Whisper, tactician, VI, ACD & SJ

I think we have to wait until the Tie/FO expansion is released to fully realize the strength of the ship. Anything else is pure guesswork.

FOs are overcosted and it's best to run just one for the ability and mix it up with regular ties. Whisper+miniswarm is still a good option although not the most competitive one, and Howlrunner with black crack squadrons is also good.

The TIE/fo is really a reasonable cost, it just isn't the type of ship you field in swarms. It's like an improved version of the old TIE Advanced with a 3 point discount and the TECH slot.

Try making some fun lists based on their silly names.

Omega Squadron - 100 points

• “Omega Leader”
TIE/fo Fighter
tech.png Comm Relay talent.png Juke modification.png Hull Upgrade

• “Omega Ace”
TIE/fo Fighter
tech.png Comm Relay talent.png Push the Limit modification.png Twin Ion Engine Mk. II

Omega Squadron Pilot #1
TIE/fo Fighter
tech.png Weapons Guidance talent.png Push the Limit

Omega Squadron Pilot #2
TIE/fo Fighter
tech.png Weapons Guidance talent.png Push the Limit
Their maneuver dials are superior to Interceptors, to match the damage, you have to make use of the Tech slots or their pilot abilities.
Palob Godalhi and Omega Leader are probably the best Jukers. With Palob I'm more likely to give him opportunist to compliment his Autoblaster Turret or Blaster Turret.
I'f you've got a bunch of Juke lying around:
• Carnor Jax
TIE Interceptor
Push the Limit Autothrusters
• “Howlrunner”
TIE Fighter Push the Limit
Black Squadron Pilot #1
TIE Fighter
Juke

Black Squadron Pilot #2
TIE Fighter
Juke

Black Squadron Pilot #3
TIE Fighter
Juke

Also, ever feel like having 4 Crit results every time you attack at range 1?

• “Omega Ace”

TIE/fo Fighter
tech.png Comm Relay talent.png Expose modification.png Experimental Interface
Focus and Expose, then get a free target lock from your good buddy,

• Colonel Jendon
Lambda-Class Shuttle
system.png Fire-Control System crew.png Weapons Engineer crew.png Gunner title.png ST-321 modification.png Engine Upgrade
The other ways to get this combo involve Youngster, Squad Leader, or Fleet Officer.
With the new 2 new First Order ships, and ATC Advanceds benefiting from target locks, Jendon might go up in popularity. Even Wampa might like the chance to get a free target lock to reroll misses and normal hits into crits.

Up, maybe. Useful, not while he costs as much as he does. imho.

Agreed on Jendon, he's too expensive to be anything but jank

Omega A also isn't really something to try and make amazing, because his strict condition ensures he never will be. PTL for a modest 23 points (26 if relay floats your boat) and enjoy 3 crits at range 1

The FO are what you'd call budget aces. They don't have the boost/thrusters necessary to be legit soontirs, but they often only cost the same as two academy pilots.

Keep them on the cheap side and let them return some incredible value

Jendon is going to be upstaged by thread tracers I feel. These things will make x1 mini swarms with ATCs nasty.

I wonder if you will see the TIE/fo lists fly more like actual swarms instead of tight formation flying? With the exception of Eps Lead they seem to have mainly individual abilities. .

6 Academy pilots

Yes, a Swarm+!

I'm a bit hesitant to run PS 1 ships so I've kind of lost faith in the idea, but maybe.

I flew 2 ESP as blockers a few times and was pretty happy with the results.

TL was handy if I wasn't getting shot at.

Extra shield kept them around longer.

2S and greens kept them in the fight and helped them reposition.

Overall, totally worth 3 points.

Does the Scimitar bomber have a place alongside 6 ties? With Howlrunner and 5 Academies you have 22 points left. That means you can pack a Scimitar with either Proximity mines or Conner net with extra munitions giving you two chances to plant your mines. Could be a good weapon when trying to catch Soontir, Jake or whatever fragile ace is running around your swarm. Conner net could also prove very valuable if trying to catch a boosting large ship because of the two ion tokens plus loss of action. What do you think?

personally wouldn't, too much spikey dice bull

could be four crack squadrons and an academy, though
